Overview & Reviews
Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.
You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

Overall very good - details missing - 2009 Honda Accord
By Steve - March 15 - 2:19 pmThe car rides well and with a powerful V6 its about as powerful as a FWD can get. Rides well and the interior is comfortable but - suspension is poor and you feel all the bumps. I think the added weight on the EXL model causes this. Also - dumb items like the digital compass broke in Mos #2 and both keys are finicky with opening doors reminds you this is a Honda and not a more expensive car. Overall - sometimes if feels like luxury and other times is feels like its being forced and is oh- so-close.

Miles of reliability - 1998 Honda Accord
By 1998 Honda Accord - March 15 - 1:53 pmI bought my Accord right out of the show room in 98. I have a little under 300K miles and it never failed me. I am beginning to burn some oil and put in a quart every 1500 miles. Other than that, normal maintenance. Original tranny, motor, muffler. Starts in cold weather here in Boston, and had only to replace the o2 sensor about a year ago. I plan to keep driving her. I change oil every 3K and did all maintenance on her I am planning on changing timing belt soon and maybe I can go well on my way to 400K miles.

Never again... - 2008 Honda Accord
By Elijah - March 14 - 11:50 pmMy first and last Honda. Rear brake job after 9 months - $180. Seats are most uncomfortable - after 1.5 years of ownership still trying to find a comfortable position. Exterior and interior design is sub par at best. Fuel efficiency is horrible - fill up every 7-9 days - $45 - driving to and from work and school. I am not quite sure what I was thinking when I bought this vehicle. Disappointed. Frustrated. Cannot wait to get rid of.

LX Coup w/ Spoiler - 1998 Honda Accord
By Neil - March 14 - 8:36 pmBought this car pre-owned certified w/ 14k miles. Best car I have ever owned and sad to be selling at 140k. The design and handling of this car is excellent. I was in 3 accidents in this vehicle, two sideswipes at high speeds and in all cases this car performed excellently. Only 4 cylinders but pickup like an 8. Interior has to be one of best designed ever akin to 98 "luxury" models. Trans went at 75k out of warranty but after complaining, Honda picked up the cost of parts and I had to pay only for labor. Other than that, an ACE of a vehicle. Also, the 98 design w/spoiler is better than the 2010 coup design. Love this Car!!

Great car - 2007 Honda Accord
By matt - March 13 - 9:27 pmThe Accord is a great car, but the brakes are its Achilles heel. I just replaced them all around - the backs wore first. Other than that - the car is great. I get 35 mpg on the hwy.

Great reliable car - 1997 Honda Accord
By Scott - March 12 - 12:53 pmBought this EX-L V6 in 02 with 68k, now has 193k. Other than normal maintenance., it hasnt needed anything. Doesnt use any oil and the v6 is peppy, yet gets good mpg. Disc brakes on all 4 wheels seem to hold up very well. Been through 2 teenage drivers and still survived ( I know they didnt baby it). Plan on keeping it another 100k. Power windows have gotten a little slow, but seems to be a common problem on these cars. Spray silicone once in while does seem to help. Looking for another 97 accord for my next teenager.

Nice Car - 2007 Honda Accord
By Travis - March 9 - 11:58 pmPurchased new and currently have 82K miles on my 4cyl SE. Purposely bought unit made in Japan. Recently had the rear brakes done. Had to replace dash cubby door under warranty at 35K due to getting stuck and not opening. Otherwise, zero issues. I travel for a living, often 300+ miles at a time, and have been very pleased so far. Routinely get 34 mpg on road trips - impressive for a car of this size. Interior is well-laid out. Road noise is noticeable, but not annoying. Ride is firm, but not bad. Seats are firm, but fine. I expect to get 200k+ and, as of now, would certainly consider another Accord next time. 2 minor complaints: doors dont lock/unlock automatically in drive/park no mp3 jack

By Eric - March 9 - 8:59 pmBought this car back in 07. Best value for my money hands down. car is up to 130K miles and drives like its brand new. all systems (electric, sound sun-roof, & leather) work beautify and never had a problem. Passengers and friends dont believe that I have 130K miles or that the car is 5 years old. I highly recommend this vehicle!

2008 Accord Rear Brake Issues - 2008 Honda Accord
By HondaJunk - March 9 - 1:52 pmHave enjoyed driving the vehicle until recent quality issue with rear brake pads. At just 15,000 miles, the rear brake pads need replacing. Honda America claims that this is normal for Honda as the Accord has a unique design that shifts the weight of the vehicle to the rear when braking. Thus, 80 - 90% of the braking is done using the rear brakes. Amazing. Has Honda defied the laws of physics?
