Overview & Reviews
Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.
You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

10,000 mile update - 2009 Honda Accord
By andrew - April 6 - 6:54 amWow I read the negatives by others and I am surprised. I have had over 50 cars and still take cars for test rides. The exl v-6 is one of the best values out there. Its comfortable in every seat, has great visibility, very quick, great quality, and can get very good gas mpg. 20-21 city winter, 22-23 summer and just got 30.1 on a trip to New York. It is easy to get on and out of and when compared to the next jump up like bm, Audi you would spend 10 k more and not have the reliability. Accord still sets the standard of best value for your money !

Watch your brakes/gas mileage - 2008 Honda Accord
By StlCards - April 5 - 3:11 pmLoved the new styling, reliability, and features in my Accord. Opted for the 4 cyl (190 horses) for the gas mileage vs. the V6. Considered the Camry (plain Jane interior)and the Maxima (a little expensive). After driving it for 2 years, I notice a whole bunch of these cars on the road.

Brake Nightmare - 2008 Honda Accord
By GJAN - April 4 - 8:08 pmMy first Honda. Not a great experience so far. While I will say I love the comfort of this car its reliability issues out weight its curb appeal. I have changed the rear brakes twice within the last year. The passenger door build also has had to be repaired twice due to a faulty locking mechanism. I just recently had to get the a/c condenser replaced on an 08 w/ 40k mi. Hondas a/c condensers are notorious for sub par reliability. This car is great for comfortable everyday driving by no means is it any type of performance vehicle.

2002 Honda Accord EX V6 sedan.. A++ - 2002 Honda Accord
By david - April 1 - 10:30 amI bought this car 5 years ago with 48,000 miles on it from a friend who buys cars from the dealer only auctions.I did my research and saw the 02 EX V6 came with a lot of standard items that were options on the earlier years. I also saw that the earlier years had transmission problems. The V6 has plenty of power for this car.I have had no problems with this car. This is a GREAT CAR! I change the oil every 3,000 miles, the car just turned to 92,000 miles so I found a great deal on ebay for a COMPLETE timing belt kit. Local dealer cost 450.00 eBay 325.00 including shipping from a Honda dealership. Thats the biggest expense Ive had to put into the car.I Would definitely buy this car again. A+

Not a bad car - 2008 Honda Accord
By Steveg - March 31 - 3:13 pmThis car is just ok. Im not crazy about the ride. Car handles ok, but the road noise is bad. Had to replace rear brakes at 28k. The seats arent that comfortable. The doors feel really light and cheap. Awful in snow. No other problems besides the brakes. Good on gas for a six cylinder. Transmission shifts are jerky for an automatic trans.

Cant beat the Accord - 2003 Honda Accord
By James G - March 31 - 12:59 pmPurchased for my wife 2004 from Jim White Honda in Toledo, OH. and received a good deal as it was an 2003 model. Car has held up great. There was an initial problem with a flickering of the dashboard light, which a dealer in Akron, OH (Mike Pruit Honda) promptly fixed under warranty. The rest of the time has just been routine maintenance. Several people in our families think it time for us to purchase a new vehicle and give them our Honda, but we are not ready to part with it yet. Only problem never repaired is one of the key remote lock would drain a battery (in the key) in a day or 2. We had lived in different cities so no one dealer changed the key, each changed the keys battery.

Problems Abound for Accord - 2009 Honda Accord
By 1984 - March 29 - 8:04 pmBeing my 3rd Accord and spending twice as much as my 95, i expected a lot. First, there was the problem with the vibration from the rear deck, then the knee cushion had to be refastened, then the noisy brakes that began around 5K miles. I should have known something was up when the service rep told me to not wait till 15K miles to deal with the brakes. I have 19,203 miles on the car now and was told i must spent $200 for rear brakes because this car is so different (distribute force brake) that it wears the rear brakes first, due to weight in the back!! i am looking at a Chevy, Toyota, Ford or even a previously owned BMW 3 series. Honda Dealers need to be transparent with customers.
