Overview & Reviews
Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.
You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

Bad Brakes at 16,000 miles! - 2009 Honda Accord
By Mike D. - April 8 - 11:55 amMy 2009 Honda Accord has only 16,000 miles on it and mostly highway miles. A few weeks ago I started to hear noises coming from the front end. I thought I was dragging metal or something. After a few weeks of hearing these random noises I took to my mechanic and he showed me the rear brake pads, which are completely gone and the front, which are 1/2 gone. I called the dealer and they said that it probably my driving style and this is "normal". I have done a lot of internet research and many are experiencing the same issue. I called American Honda Corp and they told me that there are no know issues and there is nothing they can do either. I now have a "new" car and I have to put out $400

honda settles class action on brakes - 2009 Honda Accord
By bckrd1 - April 8 - 11:25 amHi, so far I have not had any of these issues except for the rear deck rattle which Honda took care of under warranty but I have under 10,000 miles and have not had any brake issues yet.

Good & Bad - 2009 Honda Accord
By r2d2 - April 7 - 1:23 pmPros: Ride, Handling, Acceleration and decent fuel economy. Cons: Honda is getting cheap. Front seat material showed signs of wearing out at 6,000 miles. Key fob had problems-dealer fixed. Drivers seat clunks. Dealer says they all do and I have to live with it. It is a design flaw common in all vehicles. But the passenger seat does not clunk so Honda is just getting cheap and doesnt want to fix a known problem with a bad batch of seats that clunk. I feel like the seat back in made of cardboard. My next vehicle may be a Hyundai. Less expensive and better customer service.

Rather have a quiet BMW 328i - 2008 Honda Accord
By tom - April 7 - 11:10 amLast Honda I will buy unless they start to provide insulation. freeway road noise is so bad that you cant hear the satellite radio. Honda increased the size and scrapped all the insulation to save on costs. Worried about all the comments about brakes. Remote unreliable. Power steering motor constantly whines loudly and has been replace 3 times. it works but contributes to the overall unacceptable cabin noise.

Reliability? - 2004 Honda Accord
By Ken - April 6 - 11:44 pmI bought this car largely because of perceived perceptions on Hondas reliability. Just after 36,000 miles, my radio console lost power. I took it back to the dealership and fortunately Honda payed full cost for the repair because other Hondas were had the same problem. At 91,629 miles my transmission failed without warning. I called Honda corporate to complain, and was given a case no. Took it to the dealership and Honda agreed to pay for half the cost to replace the transmission which was $1725. Honda provided a new 3 year/36000 mile warranty. I am very glad Honda helped with these problems, but these are not problems I would expect from a Honda.

8 years of fine - 2000 Honda Accord
By Jeffery Allen - April 6 - 9:53 pmHad car for 8 years and a half. Original battery is still in the car. Had to replace the alternator for bad bearings. Did so with Honda parts. Never had a issue with the car. Interior is fine, all accessories have been excellent. roomy trunk, good room up front and the rear seat. Paint is great, I still get comments on the shine in the red. Engine really stays clean. Purchased the car with 30,500 miles on it in Feb. 2002. Great buy and possibly resell it soon and will get a great resell amount. So 8 years for $60 a month for the time owned. EXCELLENT

Awesome Car - 1998 Honda Accord
By Ryan - April 6 - 5:39 pmI have always loved Hondas, this is my 5th and I could not be happier. The car has a some miles but I know that it still has many more in it. I am still getting 32+ MPG with over 200K and the car is amazingly reliable. The leather is a great addition as well as the power options. The stereo system is great for stock and these cars can move if you really need it to. If you stay up on your maintenance these cars will go forever! Everyone should own a Honda!

Trading It! - 2009 Honda Accord
By Hateit - April 6 - 9:25 amWhats to like other than the looks? My brakes squeal all the time! The engine does not do well switching from 6cyl to 3cyl. XM Radio still does not work! And cylinder head blew a few months ago. It was fixed but still does not start the first time every time. Honda says its fine, cant find anything wrong? Best part is the 36,000 mile warranty that is almost up. Selling it soon!
