Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • Its not the Accord that used to be - 2009 Honda Accord

Its ok for the family car but dont buy it if you look for a sporty car. This is the "slowest" car in the midsized segment. Specially, the acceleration is the one of worst part in my disappoint. (177 hp, where is it?) Also, Ive visited Honda dealership 3 times for one and half years since there have been "annoying" noise in my car. (1st dash board, 2nd drivers door and now rear and passenger seat). I really miss my 03 Civic and its much worse than before.

  • Takes a licking! - 2006 Honda Accord

I bought this accord brand new in Monrovia. The only problem I had was cheap arm rest had came unattached and the brake rotors would warp after excessive freeway usage. No other problems with the car from day one until totaled. I do have to say this is a safe car. First accident was striking a box spring and spare tire on the highway ripped front bumper right off. 2nd accident totaled car, rear end impact at 50 mph! Was able to walk out of the car shaken up and unhurt. I would have to say I would buy another Honda Accord when the time for me to buy another car comes around. its a good everyday car to run around, commute, errands, or go out in. Good price for the piece of mind.

  • Great Car - 2004 Honda Accord
    By -

While no car is perfect for all this one is great for many. Just got this recently from my dads estate in Az. Drove it to Maryland and have used it for a few months and now ready to sell. First off I will miss it. This car combines very good acceleration with great fuel economy for the size. It sits and transports four full sized adults and all their stuff comfortably. It rides on the stiff side but in return provides great control. If you want cushy and floaty buy a Buick or Camry. If you like apexes and sweeping on ramps this is for you. I have achieved mpg 20s in town and low 30s on the open road. Not at all bad for the level of comfort, performance, and reliability.

  • Transmission? - 2001 Honda Accord
    By -

This was my first Honda and my last. The transmission is shot and come to find out, this is a known issue for Honda. However. And beware. They will not assist in repairing the transmission if you are one day or one mile over the warranty. They knew the transmission was faulty and still used it for several years. The issue is not that a manufacturer has a defective product, but rather, that the manufacturer knowingly sold a product that had the distinct potential of failing and will not back up their product. I dont care how many great reviews Honda gets or has gotten. They have proved to me to be an unreliable company with which to deal. Stay away from all Honda!

  • Honda Issues - 2008 Honda Accord

2008 Honda Accord with non-stop brake issues. Honda will not recall this, maybe after they have issues like Toyota did they will get it together.

  • Second Honda - 2007 Honda Accord
    By -

This is my second Honda that I have purchased. The first a honda CRX Si drove it to 305,116 miles. The ride is smooth, and the interior much improved compared to my friends accords. The interior is quiet enough to have a civil conversation, though not as quiet as a Lexus. Pick up is effortless with the manual with a slick feel. I bought this car used with only 27,900 miles on it, and the way i see it it is barely broken in. I look forward to minimal maintenance issues, and great return on this purchase.

  • Comfort of Accord Needs Improvement - 2009 Honda Accord

Overall, a great car, however, the seats are very uncomfortable. If they provide better seats or offer improved seating, I would never even consider another car. If they dont fix this, I will definitely consider a different make and model.

  • Warning, dont buy a Accord 08 or 09 - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

My wife and I purchased to honda accords (2008 - 2dr coupe used) & (2009 4dr sedan new). Since the purchase date in Feb 09, I have had nothing but problems. 1) The tire pressure light keeps coming on 2) Muffler had to be replaced due to bad components 3) Both keyless entry remotes went out 4) Driver side seat lumbar support without was replaced 5) Rear brake pads wear out fast, replaced. 6) Tires dont stay balanced and aligned. Although all of these problems was covered by the dealership its a shame that I have to take a new car in for repair "time after time". This is what you will have to look forward to in the years to come. Oh, the 08 coupe is no better! Warning dont buy Honda!

  • Transmission Problem - 1998 Honda Accord
    By -

Bought this car in 98.Engine light came on at 80,000 miles, catalytic converter had to be replaced, cost over $800. Summer of 2005 the trans failed at about 134,000 miles. Took it to the Dealer (paramus), and the service guy referred me to a transmission place in Ramsey nj to rebuild the trans. They rebuilt the tran, cost $3200, gave me 15000 mile or a year warranty, car felt great, drove like a new car. 5 months later, trans started slipping. Took it back to the shop, by this time the 15,000 mile warranty had ran out. The guy claimed he replaced sensors, charged me again, $180, and said he needs to open the tran again, told him no, he said the car wont last 9 months. Same problem, 5 yrs now.
