Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • Best car I have owned - 1995 Honda Accord
    By -

I have owned 5 cars in my lifetime and the 1995 Honda Accord is by far the best. With 225,000 miles on the car, it still gets 26 miles to the gallon with the 2.7 L V6. Handles outstanding and still drives fairly well considering the time and mileage on it. It has been a work horse and I will soon pass it to my kids after the second timing belt replacement. I have owned the car since 1997, having purchased it with 16K miles. The quality of the car far exceeds the Ford and GM cars that I owned. Only the Subaru that I own is close but still not as good.

  • Great Car - 2003 Honda Accord
    By -

I have had my Honda for nearly eight years and have really enjoyed it. So far repair costs have totaled a mere $100 and that was at an out of town dealership on a Saturday afternoon! Very comfortable, precise handling, good visibility and the radio and HVAC controls are easy to use while driving. It is a little slow off the line but the mpg is outstanding. I regularly observe 34 mpg highway and even had one 38 mpg trip. The paint and interior have held up well and still look good. I feel confident that Ill enjoy driving this Accord for another eight years without any complaints.

  • Tranny Leak - 2000 Honda Accord
    By -

After 1 week I got it the tranny leak on the transaxle left side. Honda dealer wont fix it because I brought it as-it.What a big disappointment! When you brought a car from Honda dealership, you think they maintain the quality. I will never gonna buy a Honda car again!

  • Original Owner - 1st car & best car ever - 1992 Honda Accord
    By -

My 92 Honda Accord is the most dependable vehicle I know. I still own my first and only vehicle. The engine still runs great! Change the oil every 3K/3 months. Stay up on routine maintenance. Change timing belt/water pump at 90K. Keep an eye on CV boots to avoid CV joint replacement. I have 240K miles on my car. Back in 1997, I drove it back and forth from Maryland to Florida numerous times. Ive place high octane gas in my vehicle. My certified Honda mechanic tells me my car runs great, because I took care of it. Rust is an issue in these models, especially on the rear quarter panels. Take care of chipped paint ASAP. Wash & wax car to protect coat. My interior still looks great. No tears.

  • Trying to get one more. - 1994 Honda Accord
    By -

Bought in 1999 with 65K miles. The odometer stopped on 259K, Tried to fix it so I can drive up to 300K. Engine is still running good, but the rust killing it, Patched it, passed the inspection. The clutch is original and no sign to give up. Starter has been replace 3 times and Exhaust 5 times, radiator 2 times and timing belt 2 times. Many many times the calipers and one time the rotors. Now you figure out the durability and performance of this car. People are ready to by it for 500. Wanna ride a car for long, you need to know little work too otherwise it may not be worth of keeping over 15 years. Feel sorry not able to put 300K miles and take a pictures, because it stopped.

  • Very reliable - 2004 Honda Accord

Bought this car new in 04, have never had a problem, now has 125,000 miles and have only replaced battery and rotors. Great car!

  • 500,000 and still kicking - 1990 Honda Accord
    By -

I purchased this vehicle as a second vehicle from a previous owner in December 2009 with 506,000 original miles. So far the only thing that I had to do was give it a tune up, charge a/c, and a set of tires. This car is truly amazing with no leaks. Still running with the original engine and transmission like it was off the show room floor. Honda you did great with this model.

  • Not so great! - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

Traded my Lexus 06 IS250 for this based on Hondas reputation and the fact that my wifes 04 Accord has been a great car. I was initially impressed with the styling which led to the test drive. Power is impressive and the ride is harsh but the payoff is in the handling. I just turned 14K and have noticed a slight brake shimmy at highway speeds so there may be something to all the complaints logged here. I also have the "bumpy" feel to the driver seat when adjusting forward or back. My dealer told me that Honda is working on a solution for this - well see. Overall its a good car that is reliable but, in my option, not as great as its predecessor.

  • Performace Car Update - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

Reviewed in Dec 06 and now providing an update. The car has definitely lived up to Honda quality and reliability. I use Michelin Pilot PS2 tires on 17" wheels during the summer and the ride quality and handling is tremendous for an Accord. I havent had any problems, but the dealer did recommend I replace the rear brake pads at 30k miles. As many have noted the gas mileage is not as high as expected but it is still excellent for a 6-cylinder car. I get 23-24 mpg in city and 34-37 in the highway. Setting the cruise control at 65 mph gives the best mpg. I paid a low price for a new car 4 years ago and it was well worth the money.

  • had it for 4 days and radio light went b - 2004 Honda Accord
    By -

Hi, i just bought a used 04 honda accord ex with only 49,000 miles on it. The car has power and it drives really nice. The only problem that i have had is that the radio backlight just went dim. I guess this is a known problem with this year Accords.and the dealer said they would fix it. Other then that I hope to have a good time with this ride because I like it and Hondas are supposed to be good cars.
