Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • Get one with low miles! - 1991 Honda Accord
    By -

Got this car after I wrecked my 93 Mustang for $1800 with about 165k miles on it. Its a good car, not much more could be asked for with the price I paid. The AC went from freezing me out to not working in a few weeks, the variable speed sensor is going out (a common problem with this model), the trunk is leaking, needs new CV joints, a tune up, and I have had head gasket work done, a new battery and alternator, and a new timing belt. Its a great car still, but its a money pit. Once something goes wrong, everything starts to follow. The gas mileage is the saving grace I get about 40 highway and around 32-34 in town.

  • Middle Aged but Still Rocks - 2001 Honda Accord

The car had some problems with the air bag sensor which required to be replaced by the dealership [under warranty]. With a few upgrades, new shocks and struts + some after market 18 inch alloy rims and handling has greatly improved. [~$2500 for entire package]. With a few interior upgrades such a new MP3 compatible stereo and GPS, completes the picture.

  • Honda EX-L 4 Cylinder - 2009 Honda Accord

I bought the car brand new and have been driving it for the past 18 months. The following is what my experience has been with this car: The car is noisy. The road noise is so loud and bothersome that it soon make you tired of driving the car. Also, makes you feel unsafe driving on busy highway. The leather seats are not comfortable at all. It feels like not enough springs are used for comfort because of toughness of the leather. The engine suffers when A/C is on. Even though I have driven the car 12,500 Miles and the engine is broken in, the MPG stands around 20 in town. This is my first Honda and with the current experience, I would reconsider purchasing it.

  • Disappointed - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

At 30,000 miles, heard the brake wear indicator and had to replace the rears. The fronts have several thousand more miles left. The VCM is terrible. The transmission hunts even in cruise control and is jerky and slips often. A danger when you are in heavy traffic. Dealer finds nothing wrong and that Hondas do not have smoothest trans. Both front windows rattle, the road noise is quite noticeable, and rain rolls off the top and right on to the controls. I dont see why people rave about Hondas.

  • My First Car "Love It" - 1999 Honda Accord
    By -

I love my Honda. Its my first car. i bought it used in 2008 and i havent had any problems with it what so ever. The only thing wrong with it right now is the A/C but thats not really a big deal it just has to be recharged.other than that its been a great car for me and i wouldnt think twice of buying a brand new one.

  • My First Honda - 2006 Honda Accord

Purchased my 2006 Accord LX Cope, 5-29- 10, This was a pre owned with a one previous owner. I fill that I got the best deal possible. I have driven it only about 80 miles so far. But it is great car, Drove over a few rough roads with no rattles. Great Looks, love the moon roof, cd player, power seats, 17" wheels. Lots of get up and go. Havent driven it enough to tell about the Miles per gallon. Hopefully the v6 will provide that. In the past I have owned a Toyota Camry and a Nissan maxima. After one day of ownership I can say that the Honda is the better car.

  • Bad Transmission - 2002 Honda Accord
    By -

This is the second accord (2002 SE 4 Door we owned), after my mom totaled our first one. We got it from a local used car dealership, the transmission started sliding when we hit 82k miles. While it is not worth it to have it replaced anymore, we can only live with it, and expecting jerking while step on the acceleration paddle.

  • 6th and last Honda - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

Piece of junk since day one. The brakes have squeaked. Heard all of the Honda excuses. Entire dashboard has illuminated 3x after a car wash. Warranty covered the first two times and had to pay $50 the third time. Really? For taking it through a car wash. I was told the drying system is too powerful. Im not kidding. The check engine light has gone on numerous times and the cause of the last one was due to a poor air filter. Paid $115 and drove off the lot. Re-appeared within 5 miles. Told dealer that a mechanic tested it and said it was the oxygen sensors. Dealer says no way. Honda Cus. Svc. told me today it cant be that bad because I had 60K on it. Thanks for caring. Bye

  • Super HONDA - 1994 Honda Accord
    By -

I got my 1994 Accord on auction, it had 132,000 miles on it at the time, now the engine gave out due to a busted heater hose, I ran it hot, it had 482,000 miles on it, this baby just kept on ticking. This was my second 94 Honda, my first had 413,000 miles, then I donated it. They had a 4 cyl, great pick-up, and about 35 mpg, and smooth to drive, Honda lover forever.

  • My 325,000 mile 91 RS is the better car - 2006 Honda Accord
    By -

The 5-speed 4 cylinder is fun to drive. Good acceleration and handling for fwd. Reliability - exhaust shield rattled dealer fixed, outlets failed cant charge phone & gps at the same time unlike every other car Ive owned. 43,000 miles computer failed and put me on the side of the road 125 miles from home. None of my GM cars have broke down on the side of the road with less than 200,000+ miles on them. Honda replace ECM under warranty. Lots of feathers, great comfort, pretty & tasteful styling. Quality and "impression" of quality outstanding, actual quality well below expectations. Wouldnt have the auto with the 4-banger.
