Overview & Reviews
Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.
You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

New meaning for the word JUNK! - 2009 Honda Accord
By Lee F. - July 3 - 11:27 pmDoor panels rattle, sunroof controls rattle, shifter rattles, trunk rattles, brakes had to be replaced at 5000 miles, rear brakes have a class action settlement, hesitates when going around a corner, glove box rattles (replaced three times), drivers door wouldnt open (had to crawl over console from passenger side), both front and rear doors on drivers side had to be "readjusted" because they wouldnt open, squeak under dash, air conditioner makes a popping noise, drivers seat belt had to be replaced because it was making a ticking noise, and the list goes on and on. Car was in the shop 12 times before it even had 5000 miles on it. Last time, they had it for 11 days!

Bad transmission - 2001 Honda Accord
By John - July 2 - 6:09 pmI have had the Honda Accord 3.0 L V6 sedan for 9 years and I drive it only to work with a mileage of 90,000. The transmission failed but otherwise it looks like brand new with regular maintenance. Fixing the transmission costs $4,100 at the dealers and after 7 years is no longer covered by warranty. I though that I bought a reliable car that will drive up to 150,000 miles but not so! I will never ever buy Honda again.

91 Accord DX - 1991 Honda Accord
By Dave - July 1 - 2:36 pmThis car survived the summers of Nevada and the winters of Massachusetts. It was a solid no-frills workhorse that got me where I needed to go for over 19 years. For the last few years, it needed a major repair per year, but only this last year did it cost me over $500. The engine has held up very well, and the fuel efficiency has been great.

Solid value but missing some features - 2010 Honda Accord
By TheTick247 - July 1 - 1:20 pmI was leaning toward other cars (Legacy, Sonata) but got such a good deal on this I couldnt turn it down. Its everything you expect from an Accord. Solid, comfortable, fairly nimble & well made. That being said, its missing some features that youd expect it to have and that the competition already does. The powertrain, while competent is beginning to showing its age relative to the competition. In the end, its a good car thats better than the sum of its parts. It wont overly impress, but it wont disappoint, either.

Speechless - 2009 Honda Accord
By tporta911 - July 1 - 11:05 amI purchased this car 10/09, my 4th Accord. I was so excited! Brand new, black on black, I felt a little "classy"! All of that excitement ended in 5/5/10 when I began to have engine problems that left me stalled in busy traffic 4 times. After multiple visits to my dealership and 2 returned phone calls from Honda "customer service" out of 9 messages left I am still no where. Corporate is stalling (pardon the pun, just like my car). They are doing the 3rd oil consumption test after the last 2 failed miserably! Why? They have told me to check the oil every time I get gas, really? Isnt that one of the perks of owning a new car? I cant believe Im dealing with this. Beware and dont buy!

Overall a good car - 2009 Honda Accord
By EyLct - June 30 - 4:05 pmI drive a lot for work. There is never a time where I doubt the dependability of my accord. Within the first 5k miles I had to have a tire sensor replaced. After 12k miles all of a sudden it started making this really loud grinding noise. I took it to Honda and they said it was the brakes. They replaced everything free of charge. So far so good. I do notice while idling the car with rev really low like its about to stall out or jump suddenly where if I didnt have my foot on the brakes I would have hit the car in front of me. Very concerning. Very poor acceleration. Horrible gas mileage. Though I love the look of the cars exterior.

Honda - 1999 Honda Accord
By logan.baranowski - June 30 - 2:34 amThis is my first car ever! I love it. Has some transmission problems but it still drives, so no problems. It is 12 years old and I drove it 80 mph on the freeway and she got 33 mpg and that was with my bike rack. Bought from my dads coworker. Got a great deal $5000 and it is still worth $4000 after two years. I recommend this to all.

Just a suggestion - 2003 Honda Accord
By Madame Butterfly - June 30 - 12:46 amI love my car but I had a friend get me front license plate made and I cannot put on the front of my car. I see that most of these Hondas do not have a place to put a front license tag.

Good, except for transmission - 2002 Honda Accord
By FLDriver - June 29 - 5:34 pmTransmission problems! Transmission replaced at 110,000 miles and again at 165,000 miles. I have done the regularly scheduled maintenance on this car. I dont think its my driving style either. For example, I usually get at least 60,000 miles from a set of tires (on third set). Honda replaced first transmission for me without any charge (or any explanation). Second one cost me $2k. Family has owned hondas since 1981. I have enjoyed owning this one for 9 years. Not sure if I will buy another Accord. I have not seen shining reviews of the 07 - 09 models.

Poor quality by HONDA - 2008 Honda Accord
By RTH - June 29 - 4:18 pmThis my third Accord. The first two wonderful. This has been a dog! Today both keys and door latch [left side] need to be replaced. I have complained about this for a year and not that the car is out of warranty suddenly it can be repaired. Over 3 bills. Both seats in front are black there color is that tarp [light brown] I took to an auto seat person and he said take to Honda they are worn out. I did today and was told “they are dirty.” Make a buck any way HONDA this my last one.
