230K and still going strong - 1992 Geo Prizm
By RedWonder - August 13 - 10:22 pmI inherited my prizm for my high school graduation 5 years ago. It now has 230K miles on it and still runs great! I think the frame of the car will fall apart before it stops running - It has lots of rust from being outside, Ive gone through 3 door handles, and the radio is questionable - but the engine is still in great shape! The low miles are great and it is truly a dependable car!

The ride that keeps on going - 1992 Geo Prizm
By ronniezlove - May 15 - 8:29 pmThe drivers door handle has broken off and is non functional as well as the inside handle. We open the inside with the handle of a crescent wrench . The passenger door opens from the outside only and we have to use the wrench to get out. So I will say they should have come up with a better door handle system. No problems with the drive train. It does use 5 or 6 qts. of oil a year. Overall, I LOVE this car and would recommend one just like it to anyone!

My first car - 1992 Geo Prizm
By first car is G-O - August 14 - 2:00 amA wonderful little car. If youre looking for power, look elsewhere. This is a fun, economical little car. The toyota seats are snug. Ill try to drive mine until it rusts apart. The only semi-complaint is with the body. One door has a baseball-size spot rusted through. The 5 spd manual is peppy and fun to drive however, reverse is sometimes hard to find. An excellent economy car.

Our other car is a Ford... - 1992 Geo Prizm
By Still smiling - November 13 - 2:00 amThis is the only reliable car we have ever owned. We survived owning 2 Chevettes, a Jetta, a Lumina, a Cavalier, a Plymouth Voyager and currently a Ford Windstar. Every one of them had some major defect or annoyance that cost a ton of money to repair. This Prizm owes us nothing.

Still Runs Strong After Many Miles - 1992 Geo Prizm
By Many Miles - January 9 - 2:00 amI have had this car for almost two years now. I have had to do some basic tune-up stuff, new brakes, new exhaust, new tires but other than that it just keeps going and going and going. I woud recommend it for anyone for a first car! It started every cold morning in MN. 168,000 miles and still going strong.

Decent 10 years - 1992 Geo Prizm
By bookman - September 26 - 2:00 amA reliable, no-nonsense car. It gets around 34 MPG with manual shift. Never had engine trouble. I have had to get the exhaust fixed about three times, but I attribute that to local driving in the NE.

I love this car - 1992 Geo Prizm
By Prizm lover - July 15 - 2:00 amThis is my first car and I have a hard time considering getting rid of it. It has always been reliable. I have had to replace a few things, but that is to be expected with any car. My boggest complaint is the material made to make the door handles, cup holder, etc. break easily!

Reliable - 1992 Geo Prizm
By long time driver - March 26 - 2:00 amIve had the car since 94. Aside from regular maintenance, replaced FL wheel bearing at 50K, replaced radiator at 120K, replaced timing belt 145K. Now at 150K and still runs fairly well. Not comfortible for long trips.
