Pretty Goode - 2000 Ford Windstar
By brkluy - December 5 - 10:00 amI have had a 5 different windstars since 98. I get one for a company car and buy one for a personal car every few years. I have had very few problems. I currently own a 2000 and have a company van 2002. I put around 30K per year on my company van. I has never left me stranded. As far as my personal van, it has rarely been in the shop.

Windstar a Bust - 2000 Ford Windstar
By michaeljtee - November 24 - 2:00 amI purchased this vehicle to give family of five (3 children) more room and comfort when travelling. Safety was important to me and this has proved to be a safe sturdy vehicle. Ask the deer that ran in front of the van last week! Minimum damage to van. However, at 16,000 miles transmission had to be replaced. Received 24 month/24,000 on new transmission. Well, 30,000 miles later (46,000 total) tranny # 2 is leaking and slipping. 25K..Never again!

piece of crap - 2000 Ford Windstar
By gtw - November 14 - 2:00 amPaint is chipping off the corners of the roof. Paint is cracking on top of roof where the roof ditch is located on the left and right side of roof. Luggage rack has black coating flaking off. Van keeps rolling after you put in park. Car is just over 3 years old and I certainly do not expect to have paint problems. DO NOT BUY ONE!!!

A mistake I bought it - 2000 Ford Windstar
By phlbill - October 27 - 2:00 amI bought my Windstar in April 2000. After a couple of weeks I knew it was a mistake. The drivers seat position is uncomfortable. There is no place to put your left foot while driving except on the hump for the front wheel. Gas milage is terrible. It strugles to get 20 mpg on the highway and 14 mpg in a mix of urban highway and city driving. Gas milage is almost as bad as a 68 Caddy I once had. But that had a 7.7 liter engine vs the Windstars 3.8. It has been for the most part a car that starts and gets me where I am going. I should bought a F150 Super Crew or a Caravan

New transmission - 55k - 2000 Ford Windstar
By Staci - October 25 - 2:00 amHad to buy a new transmission for this POS at 55k miles. New water pump at 69k and new intake manifold at approx 62k. This car is great in design, if you want something to look pretty in your driveway while you drive a reliable car.

00 Windstar Se - 2000 Ford Windstar
By lionheart730 - October 17 - 2:00 amHave great acceleration compare with my 01 Taurus. Better space than my previous 95 Exploder. New tires and the vehicle starts shaking at high speeds especially at very low speed. Grille started peeling off. I hope to get lucky with this one like with my 95 Exploder. I sold it with over 214K mile in it and still running strong.

This is a great minivan - 2000 Ford Windstar
By happyconsumer - October 6 - 2:00 amThis is a nice minivan. It got the best rating as far as safety is concerned which is a must for a family vehicle. Its 3.8 engine makes it tow a popup camper easily, even through the mountains. It is also a comfortable van with lots of options. It seats a family of six easily and still has room in the back for groceries (for a family of six, which is a lot of groceries). This is a great choice in a minivan.

Excellent Value -- Gets the Job Done - 2000 Ford Windstar
By remydog - September 6 - 2:00 amThis vehicle surpassed expectations. We have used it for numerous family ski trips with a full load of kids, equipment, pets, etc. It has also been terrific for dozens of trips back and forth to Home Depot for various projects over the years. Removing the seats is not an difficult, but they are very heavy and two people are required when taking out the back seat. The captains chairs can be removed by one strong individual. However once the seats are out, the space is cavernous. Also, the rear bench can be moved to the middle position, giving a 5 passenger vehicle with lots of cargo room.
