1993 GL V6 Tempo - 1993 Ford Tempo
By D. Goodrode - July 2 - 12:43 amGot it with 86k on it, needed complete tune-up, 3.0 V6 is great, trans has no O.D. or lock up converter, but shifts great, (shades of the 1960s), put 10% over size tires on front, get 22 to 26 MPG average, everything works on the car, 42 Degree A/C on 95 Degree days, change oil with 15w40 Diesel oil every 4k miles, runs like a Swiss watch, no oil leaks, usual maintenance items, car now has 102k on it, good riding car, kind of boring to drive, but so far very very reliable, good daily driver, what more could you want for $900.00? Looking for a reason to get a newer car but the darn thing just wont give me a reason to retire it!

Best Used Car Ever ! - 1990 Ford Tempo
By lisag - February 25 - 1:51 amI bought my car from my neighbor almost 1 year, for $500. I figured It would last a month or so, 6 months tops. 1 year later, Im still driving it. Its been a great little car. Sure, Ive had to have a few repairs done, but none of them were major and most were things I had to have done with a car 20 years newer! Ive considered selling it, but its been so good to me, I think ill just do a few cosmetic repairs and keep it. Its reliable and it has never left me stranded. Great car for the money!

Not Bad - 1994 Ford Tempo
By KK - November 12 - 2:46 pmI am now on my second Tempo. My first one was a 1992 which I found to be a better car and it did not have those annoying automatic seatbelts. I bought this car in 2005 with only 23K miles on it (it now has 78K) but it did have some "issues" I have replaced the starter, fuel pump, distributor, wiring, some kinda thing in the front end that holds the motor in, brakes, and likely other stuff I have forgotten. Still all in all its fairly cheap transportation, it starts good and is quite comfortable to drive. Ive done Califoria to Canada in it 6 times. It does tend to have an overheating problem and Im not sure why but I still like the car and enjoy driving it. Would I get Tempo #3, not likely.

Old beater - 1992 Ford Tempo
By spalding - October 24 - 9:58 pmI bought my Tempo as a work car from a friend of my dads. I had planned on getting a new one but the plant a worked at shut down. I didnt change the oil for 1500 miles. The electric door locks dont work but the manuals still do. After realizing I was going to have to keep it I changed the brakes calipers and drums. Charged the air conditioner and flushed the coolant system. Changed the oil and flushed the engine the old fashioned way with kerosene. The front drivers side was then hit at a light and I bought a new single fender and bumper from a junk yard. The fender doesnt match but who cares. The thing wont die! Very well built and dependable car. Great mileage.

Good - 1992 Ford Tempo
By Walkthelin3 - August 27 - 8:05 pmI bought this car from a friend in November for 250 dollars. It was in pretty good condition and had 132,000 miles it is now August and I have 160,000 miles. Within that time Ive replaced the starter, radiator, hubs and water pump. Ive over heated the engine and beat on it. The thing still runs great just like it did the day I got it. Its a very reliable car and even though its not as powerfull as Id hoped it would be I instantly fell in love with it and still love it.

130K miles and going strong - 1990 Ford Tempo
By milehigh - October 14 - 12:53 pmOne-owner auto with 130,000 miles. Other than the notorious thick-film module problem, its been a reliable, good running/riding car. Biggest drawback: the 3-speed auto. that either screams or loafs. But it cruises the interstate at 80-85 all day and still gives me 28mpg. A gigantic trunk, great stereo/tape audio for an old beater and they dont paint em like that anymore (non- metallic red that still shines up great). Theres a lot of these running around Kansas so they must be pretty good overall if theyre not abused. I wouldnt take less than $2000 for this 17-year-old bomb, but it aint for sale!

Not Bad At All - 1994 Ford Tempo
By C Mor - April 4 - 6:44 pmI got my Tempo from my Grandpa for free. It was my Grandmas but she barely drove it. When I got it July of last year, it had 44,500 miles on it and is only at 50,100 miles. The body is almost mint except for the few small dings from the parking lot. It sat on a gravel driveway for almost 7 years, only being driven a couple of times a month. Because of that, its very rusty under the hood and chassis, but everything works pretty well. It has all of the original parts except the battery, brakes, and tires and everything seems to be holding up fairly well. Not too many complaints here except for the fact its a Ford and its old

Outstanding car - 1992 Ford Tempo
By John - May 28 - 11:06 amThis car has been VERY dependable since we bought it in 1993 as a program car. It is important to keep the transmission fluid changed every 30- 40k. Low maintenance, dependable transportation, well suited to commuting where an excess of power and performance is not required.
