Overview & Reviews
Other than the deletion of the 3.0-liter V6 engine, the Ford Ranger line soldiers into 2009 essentially unchanged.
- Solid performance from 4.0-liter V6, very capable off-road with FX4 trim.
- Cramped interior, choppy ride, subpar handling and braking, dated interior design, lacks modern-day safety and convenience features.

Disappointed - 2009 Ford Ranger
By Disappointed - March 10 - 12:09 pmLooks good and drives good. After 6,000 miles developed any annoying rattle in the passenger side of the dash and the dealer could not find the source. Worst part was that after 5-6 months the vehicle started rusting. A couple of spots on the body, through the paint and also some painted spots under the bed and finally inside the wheels. I do live at the beach, but my 1996 Jeep Cherokee, which was 8 years old when I moved there, took 3 to 4 years to start rusting and my girlfriend lived in the Keys for 20 years and never had issues with her 3 Hondas. This is ridiculous, especially since Ford claims that their quality is even with Honda and Toyota. Warranty doesnt cover this, of course.

Ford Ranger = poor quality - 2009 Ford Ranger
By Ford clunker - August 24 - 9:19 pmTruck is built cheaper than my 2000 Ranger. Rattles and sqeaks from day one. Shakes and runs so rough that it causes the body and seat to shake. This goes on while driving at all speeds. Dealership says this is in normal range. Gas mileage is about 19 1/2. Far from the 21-26. Radio poor quality also. Cannot pick up stations that can on 2000 Rangers radio. Very unhappy and sorry to have purchased. Would not advise to buy.

Wanted another delevery truck. - 2009 Ford Ranger
By Ranger XLT - July 18 - 7:33 pmFirst off it is an automactic, I could not find a choice for auto when filling out the Edmonds form. My last truck was also a RangerXLT, it was a 1996. I still have it, having done courier work in it since it was new, it now has 632,457 miles. all oringal, except routine maintance, tires, etc. The normal wear and tear stuff. The drivers seat has lost most of its cush, but not bad considering the hours sitting in it. Im just amazed how good its been, and still is. Now for the 2009, it seems to be built good and tight, and my reason for getting it, was solely for the reliabilty record these trucks have. Our luxury vehicle is a 2006 Toyota Tacoma Crew Cab. Back to the new 2009, I couldnt have

SuperCab XLT - 2009 Ford Ranger
By mars - June 6 - 5:38 pmLove the new front fascia design. I chose the 4 cyl supercab with a few options. Other than the vibration felt in the strg whl, door panels and seat, I love this truck. I drove the Toyota and it is just ugly as well as $4000 more with less options. GM products are not worth considering.
