Overview & Reviews
This year's changes to the 1999 Ford Ranger include standard 15-inch silver styled wheels, a class III frame-mounted hitch receiver for V6 applications, and a spare tire access lock. All models get dual front cupholders and Dark Graphite has been added to the interior colors options list while Willow Green and Denim Blue have been removed as interior choices. The "Splash" model has been discontinued. A 3.0-liter V6 flexible fuel engine is available that is designed specifically for ethanol/gasoline fuel blends.
- The 1999 Ford Ranger continues to be a cutting edge truck with four-door entry, a five-speed automatic and optional flexible fuel/electric powertrains.
- The 1998 restyled body makes a failed attempt to outshine the current Dakota.

A Great Truck! - 1999 Ford Ranger
By spencer - June 12 - 2:00 amSince owning my baby, Ive never had a problem. I love my truck and have taken it just about everywhere. For a small truck, it can pull quite a bit. The only drawback I have noticed is the fuel economy, but there is a price to pay with everything! After driving a Toyota with no power at all, I knew that this was the truck for me!

Great Truck - 1999 Ford Ranger
By S.N. - September 3 - 10:00 amIm very impressed with this truck. It rides very smooth for a p.u. and handles nicely. I really like the design (interior and exterior). The 4.0 engine is more than enough power to do most jobs.

Ford Ranger - 1999 Ford Ranger
By Craig S. Castellana - June 28 - 5:03 pmI found the gem of a used truck Thnksgvng 01. A 99 Ranger basic baby A/C, AM/FM Radio, 5 speed, 13k miles, yes 13k. A gift truly to be thankful for. The only problem noted was a vibration in the rear end at 65 mph and as I am a commuter that was a big deal. However, between Ford and Carmax the problem was fixed and I cannot say enough good things about my Ranger. This is a bare bones truck that delivers the goods anywhere any time. She makes me proud and works hard for me w/o any complaints.

Ok Truck but only Ok - 1999 Ford Ranger
By mARIETTA - March 11 - 10:00 amNot much fun to drive and the 3.0 does not have very much power. But its a good value and holds its value pretty well. Watch for the special finance and lease programs, they can turn a good value into a darn good deal.
