  • Advanced technology and safety features

The good: I purchased this Fusion new for $17,990. After 26,000 miles, I have had zero mechanical issues. Combined gas mileage is 28.3mpg over those 26k miles. 60/40 highway/city. The highway mileage is really impressive after the engine is broken in, averaging just under 41mpg. The seats are very comfortable, and the ride is very quite and smooth. The 1.5L turbo is impressive and really does a good job. The bad: My local ford dealer has a horrible maintenance department. The cost to do a standard oil change and tire rotation is 3x what Honda charges for my Accord. Also, the 30k mile service costs around $800. In the car, the screen is small for the backup camera. Overall, its a nice car.

  • Not bad for a Ford - 2015 Ford Fusion

My Nissan Altima was totaled and Enterprise gave me a 2015 Ford Fusion for 2 weeks while the insurance company and I worked out the details. Overall, the car was pretty solid and I was fairly satisfied with it overall. Pros: Personally, I loved the climate control, backup camera, automatic headlights, and the bluetooth feature. Cons: There were definitely glitches with the "MyFord" technology, handling was pretty average, and my biggest complaint was that I believe there are some serious blind spots on this car, particularly on the driver side. Its difficult to explain, but switching lanes was not easy in this car because some unnecessary cosmetic plastic on the inside of the car. Lastly, the ceiling seemed a bit low and the two seats in the front were unnecessarily big. Feel like you probably will get more room in comparable Japanese full size sedans. Overall: I enjoyed the car, but I still think any comparable Japanese car is better (Altima, Maxima, Camry, Accord, etc). I think Ford is probably the best American auto maker, but I purchased a 2014 Altima and its definitely nicer. Regardless, the car was very smooth driving and you could definitely do a lot worse.

  • No confusion with my Fusion!! - 2015 Ford Fusion

I read the reviews here before purchasing, so I wanted to come back and give some input too. ~~~~~We recently bought a used, 26k mile, one-owner, 2015 Titanium, Brick Red leather package and 18 inch fancy wheels, with just about all the bells and whistles you can get, and have put a couple thousand miles on it so far. I couldnt believe the low price of the car! I dont understand why people are shying away from it at all. After test driving it (first time I had driven one), I was super impressed. Ive had some other really nice, more luxurious, higher-priced sedans in the past, but felt they had nothing on the Fusion. The ride is super good, with extremely low road noise. At 510 tall and a few extra pounds, the seats are extremely comfortable to me, with every adjustment you could want. Controls are all located nicely, and it has several interior aesthetic adjustments and options for those who like that. The 2.0 240hp turbo engine is more than enough power for the average guy...and I DONT like my vehicles being under powered. Mileage has been pretty average so far. 22-23mpg all around driving, but Im probably a little less aggressive than most. Not alot of pure highway driving with it yet, so I cant comment on that mileage at this point. ~~~~~~I agree with several comments on here about shifting. It is not butter smooth all the time, quite far from it. But for me, if I know its just how the tranny works on this car, and there is no actual problem with it, it doesnt bother me. I dont need to have everything work like a 100k dollar car to feel good about a purchase. Its clunky at times, yes, but plenty good enough for me, and far from annoying. Like someone else said....the trunk opening is a bit small. It has plenty of room, but the opening itself is just a bit short.~~~~So far, there isnt anything I would really complain about with this car. We love it, and would buy another in a heart beat....especially for the price we got it at. :) ~~~~~~~ ****UPDATE 5/26/2017***** Several more months with this vehicle. Still really like it. Its not perfect, but still a very nice car. Have had MANY compliments from people that had never been a Fusion before, on the sharp look of the interior of the car! Gas mileage is not real good for a four cyl., and the cars MPG estimator typically differs from what it actually is when I fill up and calculate it myself. The car pads it by a few MPG....lol. Hmmm. So far everything is going as planned. Id still buy the car again if I was given a do-over. :)

I have the SE 1.5 Ecoboost. In terms of the engine, it is either eco or boost, never both. I have achieved as high as 45 MPG when doing mostly highway driving in good weather. Driving in colder weather and/or with a heavy foot will bring you down to around 27 MPG. My car says my average is just north of 33 MPG. Acceleration is good once the turbo kicks in when in sport mode as long as you pick the correct gear. While the 1.5 is not much faster than the 2.5, it feels faster and more spirited; it is absolutely worth the extra $800. The drawback to the small displacement motor is that added weight decreases acceleration dramatically, but since I drive solo most of the time, its not a big deal. In regards to the select shift, it is not instantaneous, but shifting .5-1.0 seconds before you want it to shift fixes that issue. The ESC on this car is amazing. The traction control is good, but not so good that you cant easily spin your tires if you step on it (unlike my previous 2014 Mustang that couldnt spin ever). While being easier on the throttle, the TC works great in the winter. Overall, the handling is superb. In the comfort department, I have zero complaints, and I am 6 4". I have taken this car on 14 hour trips and it is amazing compared to other vehicles, especially Ford Super Dutys. The overall design and technology that this car has is wonderful. Now onto the bad. I have had at least on of my windows frozen shut almost every day this month with no visible ice on them. Also, the trunk likes to freeze up as well. I have never had a car so prone to freezing up, but the temperature has fluctuated higher and lower than the freezing point a fair amount this month in WI. The largest issue that my car has is a parasitic draw on the battery. It has been dead five times in the 21 months that I have owned it, once in as short as 12 hours. Ford cannot diagnose the problem, so they extended my warranty, but will not give me any real incentive to get me in a new car. That being said, I am going to cut my losses (resale value sucks, trade-in is half of MSRP in less than two years) and get a 2017 as soon as the normal rebates are higher because when I buy a car, I want something that starts up every time. The Fusion is a wonderful car, and there are plenty of perfectly functioning ones out there, and I hope for better luck next time.

  • Great little car, keyword...little - 2015 Ford Fusion

Great looking car, ride is decent for a small car. Getting in and out is the reason we traded into an Escape. That and the seats will cripple you on a trip. Highly dependable and we had only 2 warranty issues, both with the outside mirrors delaminating which the dealer took care of quickly. The 2.5 engine is more than enough engine for most drivers but its no hot rod. Gas mileage for us was 24-26mpgs town driving and 38-44 hiway. Seems like 65 is the best speed for gas mileage for ours. That would be in Texas heat and rolling hills. Brakes were great but the car has more than expected road noise. On course asphalt you cant hardly hold a conversation and for a modern car, thats no longer acceptable. Trunk space is limited as is the back seat area. This is not a crowd hauler or family car. For the wife to go to and from work, it did the job but after sitting in traffic for an hour, she couldnt hardly get out of it due to the seats and the cab forward design which makes it hard to get in and out. While I wouldnt exactly call it an econonbox, its not much of a step up from a Focus which was her previous car.

  • Still like new - 2015 Ford Fusion

Purchased this pre owned certified car from dealer for what I consider to be a reasonable price. Although it has 36,000 miles its in great shape and I bought the extended warranty just in Case! There is an annoying little rattle (more of a ticking) that seems to only happen when I drive...versus the dealer! Ha. The entertainment controls are cumbersome... And there are about four different ways to change the temperature or radio channel. I vote for simplicity over trending.
