Wow, what a ride! From the outside in, this 2017 Ford Fusion is a head turner and heart racer. I have purchased many cars over my lifetime, but hands down this the best car my family has ever owned. I have paid for cars that have cost more and I have paid for that have cost less. However, I cannot believe the overall cost and performance for this car. I have owned a number of Ford vehicles from 2005 to 2009 but left. However, with the Fusion I will be a Ford owner for life!

I havent had my brand new for over 6 months and it has been in the shop over 10 times. Ford keeps coming up with excuses why they cant buy the vehicle back. When it comes to providing me with another form of transportation if they dont have any vehicles available they tell me I have to pay out of my pocket and they MAY reimburse me. Ford volunteers to pay one month note which is still not paid so I am receiving harassing phone calls from Ford credit all day plus it is being reported on my credit as delinquent payment. I will never recommend anyone to purchase from Ford especially a brand new car.

  • What a joke. - 2017 Ford Fusion

This foreign engineered, made in Mexico piece of crap is not only a huge rattetrap, its slow and depreciates around 8 to 9k from the sticker price in 3 months and less than 6k miles. If you enjoy searching for the cause of rattles and poor fuel economy, this is the car for you. Last. Ford. Ever.

Good acceleration for an otherwise poor car at a high mark up. My 2015 Fusion SE Ecoboost 2.0 was a great car. This car isnt

  • Love the car - Hate the headaches! - 2017 Ford Fusion

I love the looks of the car. The ride is smooth, handles well, technology is awesome. Seats are comfortable. The problem: twice the first six weeks I had the car (purchased new) it has failed to start. Dealership said it was the battery and replaced. Car started fine for a couple of weeks, then did it again. The engine did not even try to turn over. The car is in the shop now and I hope to change to different car. I cant trust this one.

  • I Have My Audi A6 Back - 2017 Ford Fusion
    By -

I owned a few Audi A6 vehicles when I was a consultant, but I have owned several fords in a row since then. I have kept with Ford because the cars are built well, and reliability has been outstanding. Ive only had to perform routine maintenance and the Ford Dealer prices and customer service have been very good. I traded in a 2015 Fusion Titanium AWD for a 2017 Platinum AWD. I have no complaints about either car. But the Platinum interior looks and feels like I am driving an Audi. The interior is luxurious. The side profile with the polished aluminum wheels looks sharp. The LED running lights, turn signals and head lights are sharp. The new twin scroll 2.0 ecoboost is even more refined than the previous in my 2015 Titanium, and it is just a tick faster but it is noticeable. The sport mode is where you can really tell the difference. The sport mode on my 2015 was only a slight difference, but on this 2017 Platinum, you can really feel the difference as you accelerate. The car is buttoned down and rides and drives like I am in my previous Audis. One disappointment is the tires. It would be better to come with Michelin Primacy MXM4, like the Lincoln MKZ, and not Continental tires. The Michelins ride even smoother without sacrificing handling. I could have purchased a low end Lincoln MKZ cheaper than the Fusion Platinum AWD. However, it would not have all the safety equipment, the leather dash, the premium leather seats and doors, and AWD. I dislike the MKZ rear end anyway, so I would not consider. This is my 4th ford in a row. Very happy.

  • My Second Ford Fusion Even Better - 2017 Ford Fusion

Ok heres the deal, Its unbelievably fast for the 2.0 twin-turbo. 145 ponies that are coupled with a transmission begging to get off the line quickly and make the case it "must be an eight"...Oh sure it must...It has dual exhaust!....But no, its just 2.0 and fast to 60mph. No worries about comfort either, my seats are heated and the drivers seat has lumbar support. Leather seating is well stitched and the console from front to back is stellar! A bit pricey with all the options, but worth it. The cup holders have spring loaded cams to keep the cups from getting jostled around. There is a great storage compartment in the front of the console for cds or a Kindle or wallet. The plethora of usb and lighter ports come in handy. The visor is now my garage door opener too. Actually there are too many great things about this car....With one glaring glitch. I am not tall so it doesnt bother me so much, but if you are tall expect to bang your head into the roof a few times getting in if you arent careful. I love the seats tho....When you shut off the engine and open the door your seat moves backwards and down making it easy to get out of the car. When you get in and start the car, the seat will go back to where you left it if you program one of two options in to its memory.. The cockpit (really thats what it feels like) it fully designed to get to everything (once you learn where everything is) with just a small reach or touch of a button on the steering wheel. The remote keyless entry is a snap. The gear selector takes a little bit of getting use to. I have always driven with my right hand on the shifter. I grew up driving 4 speed sports cars in the 70 and then console automatics from then on. With the knob, no place to put your hand so it goes back on the steering wheel. The wheels and tires make the ride a little more like a sports car, you can feel the bumps in the road more with the "thin" tires. Give me the old fat and flexible BF Goodrich TA Radials! The sound system is typical of Ford....Great!! All that Bass and Treble! Adjustable steering wheel and ease of steering with one finger if you had to! The power Moon roof is great. The voice system is better with less "yelling" to get Siris attention. Quiet, smooth and stunning. Thanks for the four cylinder with the attitude of an eight! Rick In Indy!

  • Infuriatingly User Unfriendly Electronics - 2017 Ford Fusion

TINY icons on the dash and steering wheel make it infuriatingly difficult to see / find / turn on / adjust the cruise control, the heater and air conditioner, etc. Unintuitive power window controls. I got stuck in a restaurant drive through unable to figure out how to lower the drivers window after the window controls somehow got locked up. Key FOB has nearly illegible icons that require a lot of concentration to find and figure out. Many times I hit the anti-theft siren alarming the whole neighborhood and then it took minutes to figure out how to turn off the alarm. Never had these problems when renting Toyota Camrys / Hyundais and Kias.

  • Fun to drive...if it will start. - 2017 Ford Fusion

I do not recommend buying this car until Ford addresses and fixes the batter drain problem with this car. Numerous times, after sitting in my work parking lot for the day (8 hours), I return to the car to go home and the battery is dead. There is a bug with this car that my dealer, and according to the increasing complaints on the forums, most other dealers cant diagnose and fix properly. Ford has been silent about the problem and has yet to issue a fix to its dealers. Do not buy this car until the problem is fixed at the corporate level. That being said, if a fix is found, this is a really fun car to drive with great tech. With winter tires this AWD car is really, really fun in the winter. The only thing I dislike about this car is the MPG. Not the mileage Id like or was used to with my 2014 Ford Fusion 2.0 Titanium AWD.
