  • The Ford I Thought Could! :( - 2016 Ford Fusion
    By -

Let me start off by saying I USE to be a Ford fan. Both my parents had ford cars, I had two ford trucks, and I just got the 2016 Fusion and let me say this thing has been my worst nightmare. The only thing I can say that I like about it is the style and color, the low apr, and the price was pretty cheap. Other than that this car has been a lemon. Also, I feel like they screwed me over on my trade in giving me nothing for it. :( When I first got the car the Throttle body went out in it. Didnt cost me nothing but time and ease of mind having only 1000 miles on the car. After that, the camera stop working in the car at about 15,000 miles. I asked the ford dealership to look into it because the car is so new and they said it would cost me $100 to fix. I said no and went on about my business. At 25,000 miles the back passenger window started making this loud popping noise when going down. I asked them to check this out and guess what. It would cost me $100 for them to do so. Lol great help right?? Next, at 62,000 miles I went over my warranty for free oil changes by 100 miles and my one free key and I called and told them I would because they were closed the weekend I could come and guess what?? When I got their they didnt know what I was talking and that I was out of luck. They couldnt get me a key or oil change. I had to state I would post a review before they would listen to me and research that I did make contact with them. After I set down with this one rude gentleman, I set down with another one and he finally helped me. SMH Great Saturday spent. Now, since Im over my free oil changes I had to take my car some where else to get it done since Im paying now anyway. I take my car their and they come back in and say Mr.Hodge you have a oil leak behind your timing cover and value cover. its been like that a while because its burning and dirty. You cant see it because its hid under your skid plate. Who have been doing your oil changes??? I said FORD!!! lol I took pictures of course. So Im pretty sure this might not be covered or it will cost me. You know $100 or more. I wonder why they havent never said anything about it?? I know they can see it and they only do my oil changes before. The car only has 65,000 miles on it and its just a little older than a year and a half. I bought the car with 36 miles on it. So I bought a lemon and started off with negative equity because they tricked me on my trade in and time I drove off the lot the value was cut in HALF. I wonder whats next?? I know one thing Im done with Ford and when I get the value of the car and what I owe balanced I trading or selling it ASAP!

  • I have this as a rental, and I am disappointed - 2016 Ford Fusion
    By -

As a car guy, Ive owned and driven lots of cars. This is one of my most frustrating rentals. I have been more comfortable in a nissan versa note than this. Why? Getting in and out is like sitting on the ground. But also, the legroom, if you cut off the person in the back seat, is horrible. And there is a place to rest your non-pedal foot, but it is sloped sideways. And the brake pedal is too far up in the air from the accelerator. The part of the roofline where you get in and out, I have banged my head many times and the seat is down really low. The roofline is cut so low it doesnt allow you to do a drive through window very well. Im 511 and about 275lbs, so Im a bigger guy. But Ive gotten into other smaller cars without this much trouble. The car is well equipped for the price point, but that is where the love affair ends. Oh, and the trunk space is very generous, a big bonus. But for comfort, my wife and I cannot wait for this to go back and to get my RAV4 hybrid back on the road - it is having the windshield replaced due to a crack from rock chips. I had much more comfort in a Camry than with this Ford Fusion. The car has a backup camera, but the screen is really small....really, really small. The air seems to struggle to get cool, but it does have little air vents for rear passengers. The car has a nice feel to it, as far as the finishes, but the space/comfort thing is a problem. It handles well, but the ride is rough and bumpy. That is being said by a guy who normally rides in smaller SUVs.....so that should be a warning. If you like a smooth ride, get something else. Over even the smallest of bumps, it feels like there is a guy with a sledgehammer banging on the floor of the car. And it really thrashes you about too. The rear brake lights are LED and bright. The dash area has plenty of info, and follows the current Ford theme. the radio and controls are within easy reach. The visibility isnt too bad. And the equipment on the SE is good compared to others in its class. But when I priced out what they start going up to in price, after the SE, or when you put some features into it, and I cannot believe people are buying these. I would not buy one of these...Id highly encourage you to look around and rent one before buying.....Im so glad I never entertained buying one of these. My CMAX I owned, while full of problems and sounding like a hupmobile, still had more comfort than this.

  • NOT for use on gravel roads!!! - 2016 Ford Fusion
    By -

This car is probably great if you never drive on gravel roads. Unfortunately, I drive on gravel everyday. This car sits very low to the ground. I have even had trouble with scraping the bottom on sudden rises when driving in town. On gravel, I have to be extremely careful not to drag the car when driving over ruts or potholes. Even worse, this car is very prone to getting gravel stuck in the rotors, causing a loud, irritating, screeching noise. This started for the first time when I had around 400 miles on the car. I now have less than 3000 miles on the car, and I have had this problem several times since. A week ago, it got so bad that I finally had it checked out because I was afraid there was something more wrong with the car than just a rock stuck in the rotor. I took it in to the dealer and, sure enough, there was a piece of gravel stuck in the rotor, causing the car to screech. I had the rotors cleaned, at my own expense, as the warranty wouldnt cover it. Today, one week later, I hopped in the car and guess what, its screeching again!!! Very frustrating to have to deal with this with a brand-new car. I dont understand what it is about this car that is causing this problem. I have always driven on gravel roads daily, and I have always done so in a car this size or smaller, but have never had problems like this before. If I had known that I would be listening to this car screech before it had even had its first oil change, I would NEVER have bought it! If you live on a gravel road, keep shopping!

  • New Car Should Not Have Problems - 2016 Ford Fusion
    By -

Rented this car from Enterprise with only 8,000 miles. Was driving it on the highway when a wrench light came on and the accelerator lost all power. I could only brake and was forced to the side of the rode. I let the car sit awhile and then started it back up without any problems. Unfortunately, the exact same thing happened a day later. This car clearly has an engine problem related to the intake or gas. There is no excuse for a brand new car to have any issues, especially related to the engine. I will never purchase a Ford.
