This Year's Model Updates:

Changes are minimal on the 2007 Ford Focus. All CD players are now MP3-compatible, and models with the optional CD changer automatically get audio controls on the steering wheel. Optional on SE and SES trim levels is a new interior upgrade package with two-tone leather seats and satin metallic interior trim. You can also get the leather seats as a stand-alone extra. Additionally, the ST sedan and all SE and SES sedans and hatchbacks are eligible for the Street Appearance Package, which provides special exterior trim and a polished exhaust outlet. Powertrain warranty coverage is extended to 5 years/100,000 miles as of July 2006.

Pros:
  • Plush ride quality, responsive steering, comfortable seats front and rear, simple controls, four body styles to choose from.
Cons:
  • Sloppy fit and finish, low-grade plastic trim in cabin, inadequate storage and cupholders, no rear head restraints or side curtain airbags, 2.3-liter engine limited to ST sedan.

  • This car had run its course - 2007 Ford Focus

Im driving my dads old Focus now and hate it. Its not well-made inside and even with a Bluetooth, connectivity is iffy. There is nothing comfortable about it. Now looking for a Mazda or other, newer Ford.

  • Not bad. - 2007 Ford Focus

Ive had this car for a couple years now. As far as I understand, it was a fleet car. Likes: Being able to see over the hood, unlike many cars today. Dislikes: I cant speak for every Focus on the road, but in terms of mileage, mine turned out to be a lemon. When I first bought this car, I drove in town during my job. At that time, my focus got about 16 miles per gallon. On the highway, the best its ever done is 28 miles per gallon. Quite a ways off from the 25/35 I was told. Also, I dont know if it was the tires my car came with, but it is awful driving in the snow. I now put snow tires on the front during the winter. That is the only way its controllable.

I bought this car new in the fall of 2006. There are design flaws in the low profile tires, resulting in blow outs and bent rims in Ohio winters. The car suffers excessive road noise. It also is built with inferior Chinese metal. The stabilizer bars were recently repaired, and all of the undercarriage heat shields were replaced. Total cost? $1,021.90. The heat shields should have been recalled, as almost every Ford owner I know from this year to now has the same issues with the heat shields. They are made of cheap, inferior Chinese steel.

  • Trading it in. - 2007 Ford Focus

I bought my car in March of 2008 and had no significant problems until January of this year with 50000 miles on it. First my alternator went out and blew a hole in battery. Most of the car is plastic so my small fender bender consist of replacing large sidings of the vehicle. Over $800 for the bumper. Then while driving my tensioner idle pulley froze up and broke causing my belt to come off my car. After getting that towed and dealing with NO space replace the pulley and belt Ive had enough. The alternator is located underneath the engine in the back. To replace the belt you have to remove the heat sheild, alternator, and reservoir just to realize your have few inches to work with.

  • Transmission - 2007 Ford Focus

I cannot believe my Transmission needs replacement. Yes, I have a lot of miles. That should not make a difference.

  • 2007 Fod Focus SE - 2007 Ford Focus

This car has been a great get around car however the gas milage is sitting around 26 which is not bad but said it would get higher. I love the size of the car because its small but could use some better styling.

  • Went Downhill Fast - 2007 Ford Focus

My husband and I got this car less than two years ago brand new. We only use it for commuting to work so it has low mileage. It doesnt get the posted fuel economy.. 6 months ago it started shuddering at stops. They told us it was a transmission leak and supposedly fixed it. Two weeks ago it began dying at stops so they replaced a tranny gasket. Now only two weeks later, its shuddering, dying, and has a fast leak of transmission fluid puddling everywhere. We can smell it as we drive, too. Ford is putting a bandaid on a big hidden problem and were thinking of trading this lemon in before the warranty is out and were stuck replacing a transmission out of pocket.

  • Not for the tall - 2007 Ford Focus

I like this car. I bought it used with 17k on it. Im 62" and its cramped inside a little. This is definitely a little person car. There a no power amenities. Reminds me of my old Ford Escort. It seems like the same size but I put on weight about 50 lbs, so this car is gonna make me skinny again. Overall a steal for under 15 thou. Good gas milage, handles well. But they need to do a factory recall on the gas cap. Almost every review I read about this car complaims about the smell of gas. I had to take mine back to the dealer and he tightened it up and reset the codes.

  • Disappointed in this purchase - 2007 Ford Focus
    By -

The exhaust on this car is loud. I wake my neighbors in the morning when I start it up. The seats are not comfortable. When sitting behind other cars at a stop light, exhaust comes into the cabin even if the intake/air conditioning is off. Dont buy this car. I guess that "quality is no longer job one" at Ford.

  • Good Price Bland Quality - 2007 Ford Focus
    By -

We bought a 2007 Ford Focus S base model in Nov., no p/w or locks, just a plain jane get to work car. With only 6,400 Miles on it, the headlights have dimmed a lot, dash lights dimmed, battery light comes on. Replaced battery after getting stuck on the side of interstate, and still have the same problem. Its sad when you have to have your vehicle serviced at only 6,400 Miles for powertrain prolems. Do not buy this car unless you go and get a 2008 model that is showing to have better build quality! But on the other hand, if you dont have a lead foot, it has great mpg.
