  • A Real Junker - 2000 Ford Focus
    By -

Just had the Focus in for its 5th or 6th recall. As usual, the mechanics found a lot broken and were almost too embarrassed to talk to me. The brakes are shot...again and the tires are worn out again too. The front end shimmy Ford "fixed" is back too. The new problems are leaking transmission coolant lines and the passenger floor gets submerged under at least an inch of water when it rains. All Ford has ever done is blow me off so now its my turn. Ford can kiss my butt goodbye forever! Im trading this junker in for a Mazda.

  • Worst Car Experience Ever - 2000 Ford Focus

When I buy a new car, I expect reliabilty and I havent had that in the 3 years I had it. Its spent a significant portion of its life in the shop for either Ford recalls or engine problems of its own. At 20K miles, a new transmission was needed. I contacted a lemon law attorney, but never had the time to pursue my case. I will never buy American again.

  • Recall Car of the Year - 2000 Ford Focus

Fails to meet all the hype of car of the year. The numerous recalls took all the fun out of driving a fairly progressive vehicle design (among domestics).

  • Dont do it! - 2000 Ford Focus
    By -

I have had nothing but trouble with the Focus and the various Ford dealerships I have encountered when getting repairs. From the tons of recalls to the cars susceptibility to be knocked out of alignment, this car is a pain. On the up side, it looks good and recently I was rear-ended and the bumper was not all smashed up. Other than that, this car is not worth the money, and I paid 15,000 for it. WELL over what it was ever worth!

  • Focus on your lemon - 2000 Ford Focus

8 recalls speak for themselves. Plus new tires every 38,000 miles. Car only gets 20 miles per gallon. With its size thats terrible. I am expecting 2 more recalls.

  • Crappy Car - 2000 Ford Focus
    By -

I have had several recalls on this car, It continues to fall apart on me so I am trading it in for a VW. When im using the AC it leaks on the inside of the car! I had that fixed 8 times and it is still not fixed! I have also had key problems!

  • Focus ZTS - Beware! - 2000 Ford Focus
    By -

This has to be the biggest piece of JUNK ever! After owning it for 2 years (and only 15,000 miles) I will NEVER own a Ford again! And Ford DOES NOT care if you are unhappy with their products! To numerous recalls to mention, they had to replace the auto transmission at 10,000 miles (and after numerous trips to the dealer!). This care is NOT SAFE, the car got T- Boned on the passenger side doors and the side-impact air bags (which I paid extra for) DO NOT DEPLOY! After complaining to Ford Corp, they basically call me a liar and refused to honor a prior agreement of fixing the problem! STAY AWAY FROM ANY FORD PRODUCT!

  • if you are in for the long-haul... - 2000 Ford Focus
    By -

If you are in for the long-haul, dont waste your money. It is ridiculous how often Ive had to put my Focus in the shop. Ive had about 9 recalls so far, and a lot of other repairs including a transmission leak twice, faulty rear seat, and a blocked ignition, to name a few. I love the size of the car, and the functionality of the hatchback, but that is not enough to make a consumer happy. A car needs to be reliable. This one is not. I cant wait to get rid of it.

  • Surprisingly poor quality car - 2000 Ford Focus
    By -

I bought a 2000 Focus Wagon SE in January 2001. Since then weve only done about 14k in it but it has been to the dealership about a dozen times. Things break and fall off, and weve had nasty vibration from the wheels, most noticeably during braking, ever since they rotated the tires, despite re-rerotating and re-balancing somewhere else at my own cost. Now I just got another recall notice. Very disappointed, wont be buying a ford again. Only reason I havent got rid of it is the resale value is way less than what I owe.
