By Save your marriage - November 1 - 2:00 am1)Record recalls and svce maintenance. 2)Inadequate driver seating for folks over 6 ft tall.(Im 6 2" and have to recline the seat so I dont hit my head on the roof 3)A/C is a joke. 4)Engine is noisy and rattly after 40K miles. 5) Interior head fabric separates from roof after 42K miles. 6)Headlight falls out at 25K miles. 7)Cupholders (console) cant accomodate starbucks or Dunkin Donuts medium size cups. 8)Original Goodyear tires are too expensive for such cheap car... $164 to replace a tire when I drove into a pot hole. 9) Motor in two power windows broke at 20K miles. 10)Ford Focus is a terrible wedding anniversary gift

Ford Fool - 2000 Ford Focus

There have been many recalls, transmission leak, ignition column broke, a hole in a PVC tube (at least this is what the dealer called it). Normally, I like to keep my vehicles for 100k miles, but its broken down 3 times this year already. I will never buy a Ford again. The resale value is terrible too.

Avoid at all cost - 2000 Ford Focus
By Angry Qt - August 8 - 1:54 amI purchased my Focus in 2001 with 33,000 miles and had no problems for the first 6 months from then on its been down hill. Recall on the rear wheel bearings, recall on the battery cable that also blew my alternator and battery, all 4 power window mechanisms have broken ($500), the brake job cost $500 because you have to get new rotors EVERY TIME -- they cant be machined, the cooling system needed extensive repair ($2000-$3000), the electrical control for the air conditioner broke ($379), the CD player broke, havent gotten that repaired yet, the ignition cylinder locked closed so I couldnt put the key in -- $1000 plus tow, and the trunk lock broke ($700). To make it short, over $7,000 in repairs thus far.

By Dizzy - June 6 - 2:00 amI bought this car with 13,000 miles on it. At first it seemed to be just what I was looking for. Then 6 months later, I had an accident going 25 miles an hour (I couldnt stop the car in time), the air bags deployed and destroyed the dash area of my car. It cost my insurance company $3000 to fix everything. Right after that, I had to have my brakes changed as they were completely gone. MMM..wonder if thats why I couldnt stop the car during the accident?? My ignition switch went out this year and now my starter also had to be replaced. I also found out about a recall on the rear bearings. Whats next?? I just dont feel safe in this car anymore.

I keep having a bad feeling... - 2000 Ford Focus
By ginga - June 1 - 2:00 amI initially really liked my car, even after a few months when I had to replace the brakes, I still liked my car. Well now, 5 recalls, 3 brake replacements and an ignition cylinder replacemnt, I now hate my car. I keep having a bad feeling that things are just going to keep going wrong.

Down with Ford! - 2000 Ford Focus
By Ford is crap - May 9 - 4:45 pmBought the car in 2000. Windshield broke in 5 months. Brakes and tires have always been bad, needing to be changed every 15 to 20 thousand miles. Replaced rotors, calipers, ignition and a tune-up was done at 35,000 miles. The Focus would be a great car if it worked properly, or if at least the dealer/manufacturer would take care of common problems.

very disappointing - 2000 Ford Focus
By bjc - May 2 - 10:00 amleasing our 2000 ford focus since may of 2000 has 27000 miles on it and has been in the shop more than I can say. We live in the northeast and every time it rains I find 6" of water on passager side floor have had rug replaced 5 times. Not to mention the numerous recalls. WE decided to change the o in FOCUS to another u BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT FORD DID WHEN THEN MADE THIS PIECE OF CRAP.

A Big Let Down - 2000 Ford Focus
By mandi - December 31 - 2:00 amWhen we bought this car, it seemed to have so many great features for an affordable price. However, not two months into it and with a brand new baby riding in it, the mechanical flaws rared their ugly heads. It seemed atleast once a month their was a recall on something mechanically vital or something would just not work, for example the key wouldnt come out of the ignition one day. Turns out the ignition was faulty and recalled. A year later, the key wouldnt go into the ignition. Turns out that ignition had been recalled too. It was fun at first, but after a couple of thousand miles, it just really starts to suck.
