Focus on your lemon - 2000 Ford Focus
By casie - July 26 - 2:00 am8 recalls speak for themselves. Plus new tires every 38,000 miles. Car only gets 20 miles per gallon. With its size thats terrible. I am expecting 2 more recalls.

Just a few problems - 2000 Ford Focus
By Orlando - July 26 - 2:00 amI owned this vehicle for just under four years and 85,000 miles. The recalls were annoying and I stopped getting them corrected, which actually led to one problem. The tires wear out quickly, as do the brakes. Ford did replace all the brakes free of charge after one year. I had the rear left wheel bearing break at about 70K miles. I think this was a recall issue. I had several problems with a bad battery cable causing the car not to start (or die in traffic). I think the car juiced batteries. I went through 3 in four years. Other than tires/brakes/wheel bearing, the only other problem was a broken air hose (about $125 repair).

Very Satisfied - 2000 Ford Focus
By Lindon D Greer - July 26 - 2:00 amCan not believe the cargo space. We had a full size 1951 Plymouth Station Wagon that did not have anymore room than the Focus. We like everything about it so far except for the gas milage, its nothing close to whats advertised after a complete tuneup, oil change & filter, and air filter its still only in the lower 20s. Otherwise a fantastic auto for the money.

Focus ZTS - Beware! - 2000 Ford Focus
By Maryland Driver - July 19 - 10:00 amThis has to be the biggest piece of JUNK ever! After owning it for 2 years (and only 15,000 miles) I will NEVER own a Ford again! And Ford DOES NOT care if you are unhappy with their products! To numerous recalls to mention, they had to replace the auto transmission at 10,000 miles (and after numerous trips to the dealer!). This care is NOT SAFE, the car got T- Boned on the passenger side doors and the side-impact air bags (which I paid extra for) DO NOT DEPLOY! After complaining to Ford Corp, they basically call me a liar and refused to honor a prior agreement of fixing the problem! STAY AWAY FROM ANY FORD PRODUCT!

Fun Little Car - 2000 Ford Focus
By Tinkerbell - June 26 - 6:40 pmOverall a fun little car. Ive had very few problems with it so far. My best friend has had one for over a year and she loves it. Shes had NO problems with it. I find it very comfortable. The only time it was slightly uncomforatable was when we squeezed five people into it. Four fits just fine. Fuel economy is not very good at all. I was a little disappointed by that.

My experience... - 2000 Ford Focus
By DMNTLL - April 24 - 10:00 amLots of space in the wagon, and has some get-up-and-go for when you need it. A co-worker told me he has never seen anyone driving a Focus that isnt zipping along the highway. I explained, "We just enjoy driving!" I have a family of four and it has been a great car for us.

if you are in for the long-haul... - 2000 Ford Focus
By freelisa - April 6 - 10:00 amIf you are in for the long-haul, dont waste your money. It is ridiculous how often Ive had to put my Focus in the shop. Ive had about 9 recalls so far, and a lot of other repairs including a transmission leak twice, faulty rear seat, and a blocked ignition, to name a few. I love the size of the car, and the functionality of the hatchback, but that is not enough to make a consumer happy. A car needs to be reliable. This one is not. I cant wait to get rid of it.

Big Mistake - 2000 Ford Focus
By GrandOwl - April 1 - 10:00 amSince buying my Focus new off the dealers lot, Ive had to endure five recalls, a cracked windshield, both back windows breaking, a wiring problem which caused the windshield wipers not to work (the windshield broke again during their attempt to fix that), a defect in the engine, a crack in the A/C line, and a defective passenger- side speaker that still only works 40% of the time after numerous repair attempts. While the design is great, the building materials and workmanship are sub-par (my back windows broke because the bracket which holds the windows in place is made out of cheap plastic which breaks if you must go over speed bumps daily).
