  • Excellent Little Car - 2000 Ford Focus

We bought the Kona edition pretty much when the Focus first came out in 2000. Weve been very pleased with the performance and reliability of the Focus. Yes, there have been a lot of recalls, but they were minor items that were done quickly at no cost. The car is very quick and nimble and very fun to drive. Weve averaged about 22 miles per gallon, which is a bit disappointing for 125 horsepower, but its not too bad. The Focus is an excellent value for the money.

  • A great U.S.A. built car - 2000 Ford Focus

I drive this car 55 miles one way to work. For 85000 miles there have been no problems-just maintenance like filters, tires, and brakes. I have the leather seats, cd player, and whatever else comes on the ZTS. This is a huge step up from the Escort I was using for a work car, and in fact I actually declared when I bought it "This is way too nice for a work car". This is a great commuter car, and is much more stylish than the rest of this class. I plan on driving this car another couple hundred thousand miles, since my previous Escorts all surpassed 250000 miles without any major work. This is a great car!

I wanted to buy an economical car to do all the short trips to town in & to keep miles off my Grand Marquis. I never have been a big fan of any small car, but I was very impressed with the ride & handling of the Focus. My LX sedan was the hands down winner after I drove the Honda Civic, Dodge Neon & Toyota Corolla. My Focus is doing an excellent job doing what I hired it to do. I recommend the Focus to anyone shopping for an economical car.

We bought our 4dr.FocusZTS brand new in Oct.2000. Im 56", my husband is 68" (345lbs) and we both fit fine. The seats adjust in height. The steering wheel telescopes. In 3 short yrs. weve put 76,000+ miles on it. Our round trip commute to Houston, TX is 70 miles. Weve had no problems. We had one accident but the Ford Dealership and Our insurance (Allstate)handled everything, giving a lifetime warranty on all work done. We paid 16,400 (absolute total), with all the extras, no trade-in and a 4.9%APR in 2,000. We love 2000 Ford Focus Sedan ZTS.

  • WHAT A PIECE!!!! - 2000 Ford Focus

This car has been horrible!!! I have had it for just over a year and have have spent at least 500$ every other month on repairs. Ford seems to complicate their cars so that they are the only ones who can fix them half the time, and they are outragiously over priced!!! The anti-theft features are more of a hassle for the driver than the theft. Gas mileage is NOT as good as advertised. Looses value quickly!! I dug myself a hole with this one. Was very disappointed since the car had good reviews. Once again Ford has let me down... Im going Honda. Im upside down, but extra money now will be well worth the money Ill save in repairs.

no problems, great small car, lots of power, handles like a sports car

  • A Real Junker - 2000 Ford Focus
    By -

Just had the Focus in for its 5th or 6th recall. As usual, the mechanics found a lot broken and were almost too embarrassed to talk to me. The brakes are shot...again and the tires are worn out again too. The front end shimmy Ford "fixed" is back too. The new problems are leaking transmission coolant lines and the passenger floor gets submerged under at least an inch of water when it rains. All Ford has ever done is blow me off so now its my turn. Ford can kiss my butt goodbye forever! Im trading this junker in for a Mazda.

  • Its been a great little car! - 2000 Ford Focus

I have owned 18 cars since I started driving in 1978. This is the first brand new car I purchased after owning at least 10 previous Fords. I have truly enjoyed this car. Its reliability has been 100% - I have never been left stranded. It rides and drives like a much more expensive car, and has plenty of leg and headroom for this tall, plus sized girl! Admittedly, I do favor Fords overall, but when I go to buy another car next year, it will most likely be another Focus.
