Not the best looking car, but never gives up! - 1995 Ford Aspire
By floridagirl82 - April 1 - 12:36 pmMy dad bought me a 1995 Aspire (Automatic) back in 1999. It was my first car and at first glance, I wasnt too impressed, but after driving it, I quickly fell in love and although its not the fastest little car, it certainly handles well. Drove it on a trip, 12 hours of non stop driving with out any problems and watched it roll over to 100,000 miles that night! It lasted me until 2008, when the transmission finally gave out. I drove to death! Its been sitting in my back yard ever since as I just cant seem to let it go lol. Ac is STILL freezing cold to date! NEVER GAVE OUT! Did have some repairs done during the time that I drove it, but nothing we couldnt do ourselves. HATED GAS :]

Owned it twice now - 1995 Ford Aspire
By Althanite - November 18 - 2:00 amOriginally bought it for my 600 miles per week commute to work. Loved the car from the start. My family of four - 2 middle/high schoolers - often took it for trips to town as well. Weve even used it like a truck (the hatchback is great) hauling nearly everything with it - hay, 14 foot long 2x4s, 20 foot long PVC pipes, etc. If we could fit it in, the car would haul it. It now has over 200,000 miles - no major work or problems other than a broken speedometer and cable but I drove it that way for two years! We gave it to my sister for a few years and just got it back for my 18 yr old to drive to college and work. He loves it over his 2000 GMC 4x4 - it is cool, sporty and great MPG gas!

95 Aspire - 1995 Ford Aspire
By THIELLS FD 227 - March 29 - 1:00 pmThis car is small yet powerful. The only thing is that the car has virtually no pick up (acceleration). With a very little bit of work, the car is incredible. I got my aspire with 25,000 miles on it and put about $300 worth of work under the hood and the car is amazing. I wouldnt hesitate to buy another aspire at any time.

95 Aspire with 245K miles! - 1995 Ford Aspire
By Jermnc77 - January 6 - 9:44 pmI purchased my Aspire from a cousin. I had long bugged him to sell it to me, and finally he relented! The motor has been replaced at 193K. I found a motor with 22K on it. I have practically rebuilt the car. But its been a work of love. I like the styling. The gas mileage is great! (averages 32mpg). It is a 5 spd with AC. I have achieved 41 MPG with the Aspire by not running the AC and keeping speed to 55mph. The mechanics of this car are simple and its easy to work on when necessary. With that said, it has been an extremely reliable car! I dont know what I would have done w/out it during the "gas rush" of Katrina! I wish Ford would bring this back! Just the way it is!

Ford Aspire bought new - 1994 Ford Aspire
By Robo - September 4 - 12:23 pmI bought my 1994 Ford Aspire new and have driven it for 15 years now. Had to have a distributor replaced and rear wheel bearings. Other than that, nothing but maintenance. It has been a great car. MPG of over 36 (still). Have 120K miles on it. I want to get it painted for the next 60K. A great go to work car.

1994 Ford Aspire---Greater Gas Saver - 1994 Ford Aspire
By Randy D. Gray - February 5 - 3:15 amPurchased this vehicle with 162,000 miles on it and figured if I got 40,000 miles more I had made a great deal. It now has 320,000 miles on it and the only things that I have had to replace are the front calipers/rotors/ and brake pads. It currently gets 48- 50 mpg when driving at 55 mph and 43- 45 mpg when driving at 70 mph. With fuel prices at what they are now, it saves me lots of money each week versus my other vehicle which is a Ford F-150. I cant say enough about the Aspire because it seems to run stronger each year I drive it, I have never been stranded and for the first 6 years I owned it, I drove 1000 miles per week. Now I drive it only 350 miles per week. A great Ford product.

Glad I bought this - 1995 Ford Aspire
By wiiz - January 10 - 2:19 pmI rented a Ford Aspire once and decided it was the car I wanted to buy. Ive had this car 10 years. Replaced a clutch (60K miles), and have had the front end (outer tie rod, and L ball joint replaced just last year. I give it regular oil changes and keep the tires inflated. Except for this last year with the front end work, this has been a dream. 41+ mpg highway, 34 city. Quiet, and small enough to fit into even the smallest parking spaces. The hatch is roomy - its like a clown car on the inside! I can get so much stuff in it its crazy! I can drive in the snow when bigger 4WD vehicles cant. Its 13 (near 14) years old, and I dont intend to get rid of it any time soon. Yay for me.

Aspire resurrected - 1995 Ford Aspire
By jermnc77 - June 20 - 4:01 pmI bought my Aspire from my cousin (after begging for years for him to sell it to me). It had 163K on the motor at the time. Nine (k) later, the motor finally gave out. I have since had a new motor installed and worked over most of the parts. I dont know what I would do w/out it now! I got 38mpg city and 41mpg highway (easy driving/no AC on)!! I wouldnt hesitate to find another Aspire and get it back on the road too!

Aspire not Expire - 1994 Ford Aspire
By Susan Potter - April 3 - 12:50 amAspire, the most reliable vehicle Ive ever owned. It still continues to run fine and quiet at 210,000 miles, same engine. In the past 13 years, its only left me stranded twice: clutch (when my son was a teenager)and when a complete tune-up was needed. The vehicle has just needed regular maintenance/repair via normal wear/tear. This car has been so wonderful to me and thus, Ill continue to repair whatever is needed so it can continue to Aspire and never Expire.
