  • Glad I bought this - 1995 Ford Aspire

I rented a Ford Aspire once and decided it was the car I wanted to buy. Ive had this car 10 years. Replaced a clutch (60K miles), and have had the front end (outer tie rod, and L ball joint replaced just last year. I give it regular oil changes and keep the tires inflated. Except for this last year with the front end work, this has been a dream. 41+ mpg highway, 34 city. Quiet, and small enough to fit into even the smallest parking spaces. The hatch is roomy - its like a clown car on the inside! I can get so much stuff in it its crazy! I can drive in the snow when bigger 4WD vehicles cant. Its 13 (near 14) years old, and I dont intend to get rid of it any time soon. Yay for me.

I bought my Aspire from my cousin (after begging for years for him to sell it to me). It had 163K on the motor at the time. Nine (k) later, the motor finally gave out. I have since had a new motor installed and worked over most of the parts. I dont know what I would do w/out it now! I got 38mpg city and 41mpg highway (easy driving/no AC on)!! I wouldnt hesitate to find another Aspire and get it back on the road too!

I had a five speed Ford Aspire and it went about 39-40 mpg. It was peppy in the city and adequate on the highway, also it was fun to drive. Id recommed it to save gas.

  • Aspire not Expire - 1994 Ford Aspire
    By -

Aspire, the most reliable vehicle Ive ever owned. It still continues to run fine and quiet at 210,000 miles, same engine. In the past 13 years, its only left me stranded twice: clutch (when my son was a teenager)and when a complete tune-up was needed. The vehicle has just needed regular maintenance/repair via normal wear/tear. This car has been so wonderful to me and thus, Ill continue to repair whatever is needed so it can continue to Aspire and never Expire.

I have had no problems with how my Aspire runs, it is GREAT. It is however hard to find parts online that can be shipped to an APO.

  • Misunderstood Vehicle - 1997 Ford Aspire

I am a courier and have used this vehicle for 7 years. Upkeep has been low for a very heavy demand car. Gas mileage is still very close to 40mpg on mainly a city driving route. AC is excellent but has required upkeep. Visibility is excellent with higher clearance. Speed to 70 mph is comfortable but gets rough past that. The Aspire is cheap to purchase and operate. You must maintain this vehicle with proper care - if you do it will take good care of you. Do not allow transmission fluid or engine oil to get low. Front axles are cheap and should be maintained. At 198,000 I have not had to do any major engine work. This little car still hums and with the 5 speed my acceleration is fine.

  • Great Car - 1995 Ford Aspire

I have had the car 3 months and i love it to death. I will not sell it and will drive it till it blows up lol. Runs strong at 130k+ miles still getting 25-35mpg city/highway respectively.

  • Great MPG car! - 1995 Ford Aspire

Purchased this car used at 72k miles. No mechanical problems in last 5 years. Just regular maintenance. Great gas mileage at 36 highway, with no air conditioning, about 28 in town. Air conditioning really lowers the gas mileage. Not the most attractive and no power steering, but beats high car payments and always starts.

  • used Ford Aspire - 1997 Ford Aspire

Bought this car used, paid $500 for it - put $800 into it for repairs, well worth it. I drive it in central Florida were it belongs (no hills). My only fault I find is the fuel tank only holds 10 gallons and I have to stop every four days to fill it up. If we have to get out of our area, we would never reach the next state without stopping twice for gas.

I have owned this car for over 2 years and have had very few problems with it. Im rather happy with it with the exception of the road noise and lack of high end power. But all an all it is a worthwhile, inexpensive car to keep.
