I have had my journey for a month now brought with 30,000 miles. Have not had any problems with it others then its a 4 cylinder so take off is like a old lady running after a bus with a walker lol other than that and my music from my phone like Pandora wont play without an axillary cord its such a shame I wont keep this long about a year and Im moving on to the car I wanted. Its a nice SUV all the bells and whistles its just a dodge there not built to last long

  • Great vehicle but questionnable reliability - 2010 Dodge Journey

Love this vehicle. Comfortable, quiet, good performance for the type of vehicle, good road manners, good brakes (No issues yet after 26,000 km), well designed. On the dark side, fuel consumption is high. Up to a couple weeks ago, the only issue was the backup camera that goes crazy when temperature is below freezing. A week ago however, the transmission got wrecked for no reason. The vehicle could no longer move. Was like the brakes were always fully applied. Got to the dealer. Transmission had to be replaced. Completely wrecked inside apparently. It was replaced quickly and successfully. Great service from the dealer. But now my confidence link with the vehicle is broken.

We shopped for vehicles for about a year. The wife did not know what she wanted. We looked at trucks, vans, SUVs and cars. She finally settled on the Dodge Journey, Chevy Equinox and the Ford Fusion. I liked the Fusion more, but she won. The fuel mileage is not the best for in town driving, but for a 6 cylinder is OK. We are still playing with all of the accessories. It is a great car to drive. Just wish we got AWD for the snow we get here.

I bought 2009 Journey in August 2009. Within months, the sun roof leaked and it took several times to fix it. At about 20K the brakes had to be replaced. Dealership replaced at no cost (thankfully). At about 40K the tires had to be replaced (19" tires are very expensive). Driver side passenger door filled up with water because tape was left on the drain holes. Had to have PTU gasket replaced recently. Cruise control looses 5 to 7 mph going up hill before it increases speed. Dealership says this is normal. Transmission has a delay in accelleration. Dealership cant find anything wrong. Currently have 49,000 miles on car. Really like the way it drives and handles but not happy repairs.

  • worth the price... of my base Journey - 2010 Dodge Journey

Ive had the Journey 6 months and have put 23,000km on it. It has had no issues, everything has worked perfectly so far. Im glad we got the 4cyl with gas prices nowadays. My other car is a Chevy Tahoe and the Journey is way better on gas, way smoother ride. It handles bumps extremely well, and when i need to weave in and out of traffic while doing 130km/hr it handles great. I feel confident driving it. The car feels like a more expensive vehicle and Im sure thats because it was designed by Mercedes while they owned Chrysler.

  • A good Economical Crossover - 2010 Dodge Journey

I have read a lot of Edmunds reviews and I have grown weary of their apparent car snobbishness and demand for perfection. There is no perfect vehicle. For the money I find that my new base model Dodge Journey is comfortable, adequately powered, and very roomy. For those who do not expect the moon and the stars from our ride, I find driving the 2010 Journey to be a pleasant experience that is not overshadowed by glaring defects. The ride is comfortable, and for having a four banger under the hood, it does what needs to be done without blocking traffic. Bottom line, the Journey is a satisfactory family SUV that is easy on the budget and will take where you want to go in relative comfort.

  • 1 month old, so far, SUPER, We love it - 2010 Dodge Journey

Traded in a 2004 300M, loaded. I have not missed it yet. The options on the Journey we purchased fulfills our most needed feature. Easy entry and exit to the vehicle. We are retired and have leg and knee problems. It was getting very hard to get in and out of the 300M. It sat too low to the ground. We do have 19" wheels on our Journey SXT so it is just the right height to get in and out without having to bend the legs much at all. So Far, we love the ride, looks and quality. My daughter bought a loaded used 2009 Journey R/T the next day after we bought our new one. She loves it. She traded in a 2004 Chrysler Sebring Limited and says she likes the Journey better than she did it.

  • Good Economical Family Mover - 2010 Dodge Journey

I purchased the Dodge Journey as an alternative to my trusted Chrysler Minivan. On the plus side is the low price tag as opposed to the more expensive cross overs. This vehicle fits the bill for loading cargo with the rear seats folded down or people with the 2nd and 3rd row seats erected. The ride is smooth however, the power is lackluster at best. If all seats are used, the vehicle has virtually nonexistent room for any suitcases. This makes it unsuitable for long trips.

  • Miss my Pacifica - 2010 Dodge Journey

Traded "05 Pacifica Ltd. and am having regrets. I forgot how much the Mercedes input meant! I like the Journey but am disappointed in interior. The seats are narrow and stiff. May be too many hidden storage units for a kids grown couple. I purchased black leather and it looks and feels like vinyl. Mileage is better but it will take a while to forget the luxury of the Pacifica.

  • Brakes - 2010 Dodge Journey
    By -

I just bought this 2010 Journey SXT with the V-6. At 50 miles the front brakes started vibrating so bad you could feel it in the steering wheel and also the drivers seat started shaking. When you apply the brakes at a normal level, the front end started shaking and it gets worse until you come to a stop. I called the dealer when I got home and am returning the Journey and getting my 2008 Commander back. They will have to undo the deal.
