Overview & Reviews
Two trim levels have been added -- SXT and SLT Adventurer. The SXT features roof rails, running boards and side moldings. The Adventurer includes a Thule roof rack, side steps, slush mats, cargo liner and organizer and unique wheels. Cloth heated seats are standard on all models this year (except the Limited, which sticks with leather heated seats). A full-screen navigation system is newly available.
- Strong V8 engines, agile handling, excellent ride quality, capable off-road, lots of cargo capacity, simple controls.
- Lousy mileage, sloppy fit and finish, needs more second-row legroom and storage, no stability control or parking sensors.

Best SUV ever - 2005 Dodge Durango
By Best Ever - February 21 - 7:31 pmThis suv is the best SUV I have ever owned. I have driven a Chevy Suburban, Jeep Liberty and other sedans. Those were good, but this Durango has an extrememly smooth drive, powerful engine (without hemi), comfortable seats and good sound system. I love that the back doors open so wide which makes for easy storage and entrance. I have never had a single problem with this vehicle. A month after I bought the durango, my wife drove it and she bought one! Good to travel in and has great pick up. Also great in the Cleveland snow! Love it!

Excellent SUV - 2005 Dodge Durango
By SgtAF41 - December 27 - 10:30 pmI love my truck - the obvious negative is the gas mileage, but everything else is a plus. Ride, handling, great interior, very comfortable. I would buy a Durango again.

Master of the Road - 2005 Dodge Durango
By J.D Hanke - December 17 - 8:43 pmIve always been a Dodge fan, but my new Durango has me hooked for life. Over the Thanksgiving weekend, I traved through some of the worst winter driving conditions of my experience. Never have I felt more connected to the road that I was with the Durangos AWD. My family rode comfortable for 7 hours and I had full confidence in the vehicle. Its all Id ever wanted or excected in an SUV!

Excellent............... - 2005 Dodge Durango
By Mr.B - October 11 - 8:56 pmJust a great handling SUV. In snow or on the beach, it never bogs down just motors along. On the parkway or open road it flys and handles like a dream. Exterior and interior are great everything at your finger tips. Sound system with the navigation aid is excellent love the radio and the Satellite radio too. All around great deal for the price.

Should Consider another Manufacturer - 2005 Dodge Durango
By Never Again - October 5 - 8:55 amI bought this vehicle at the end of 2005 when they were running the model year clearance. I had some negitive equity from another vehicle so the $6000 in rebates was great, however the depreciation on this vehicle is horribly. It nearly halved in value is first year. I am now two years into a 3 year lease and i am being offered my lease payout as my trade in value. I also have about 33,000 miles on the vehicle and both fron seat base cowlings are cracked near seatbelt attachments, the vehicle has stalled several times for no reason, the motor has a clicking lifter, and my fuel mileage keeps getting worse. Beware of the oh so good looking deal. Think twice before you buy.

My First Dodge! - 2005 Dodge Durango
By David Nolen - October 2 - 10:06 amI was initially captivated by the bold, muscular and clean curves of the vehicle. I took the vehicle for a test drive at the urging of my sales representative and before I made it onto the highway, my wallet started looking for a place to hide. It was time to bury my ambition to purchase another Nissan. I settled on the ST 4/2 with the 4.7 Magnum engine. It has the right blend of power and smooth acceleration. The interior is spacious and well appointed with the appropriate luxuries which include power windows, side mirrors, power locks and an AM/FM radio with CD.

The New Durango - 2005 Dodge Durango
By Scott Ryan - July 28 - 3:43 pmVery impressive handling, combined with smooth acceleration, decent gas mileage, and a bold new style makes this SUV stand out from the rest. A nice and roomy interior makes this vehicle great for families or for individuals who simply need the room. Plenty of additional options lets you customize your Durango from the ground up.

05 Dingo - 2005 Dodge Durango
By Bdubb - July 18 - 2:58 amIve owned for nearly 2 years overall never any major problems. The closest thing to any problem was the CD- changer speed slowed down but has been repaired. Overall still impressed that the Hemi in city still averages 19.2 - 20.6 mpg with no mods going 35-45mph stop n go. Seamlessly tows, smooth ride, nice acceleration a nice vehicle for family and people that like to tow their wheeled toys around.
