Overview & Reviews
For 2003, a new trim package, named The North Face Edition, comes with items that Chevy hopes will attract people who like to venture off the beaten path. Starting with a TrailBlazer LTZ or TrailBlazer EXT with the Leather Plus Package, Chevy adds body-color cladding, unique seats, mesh map pockets, rain-sensing wipers, liftgate lighting, an underfloor storage cargo liner, heavy-duty cargo mats, an adjustable cargo shelf (EXT model only) and The North Face duffel bags and blanket. Not for you? Perhaps a V8 will suit your fancy. Chevy's 5.3-liter V8 is available on the TrailBlazer EXT only. Other changes for 2003 include a larger 22-gallon fuel tank (late fall availability) and additional child-seat anchors on EXT models. Chevy has also made some previously standard equipment optional, such as the side airbags, rear cargo shade, interior lighting and auto-dimming driver-side mirror.
- Class-leading engine power, soft highway ride, room for seven in the EXT version.

Loaded and Loving It! - 2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By Cashola - May 4 - 10:00 amThe Trailblazer is everything we were looking for in an SUV with the comfort of a sedan. The inline 6 cylinder engine has more than sufficient power even with the added weight of the EXT model. Every option you can imagine and still a relative bargain. A wonderful vehicle for the daily commute as well as weekend camping and boating trips!

So far so good - 2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By condoriole - March 28 - 2:00 amPurchased our EXT LT V8 about two months ago. The wife wasnt crazy about us buying an American made vehicle but since the purchase she drives the truck more than our 2001 fully loaded V6 Accord. Hhmmmmmm. We have over 2000 miles on it and its been flawless (knock on wood!)

good vehicle requiring a few improvement - 2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By Manuel Florescu - March 28 - 2:00 amI am pretty satisfied with the vehicle. It eats gasoline like crazy though. The engine runs smooth most of the times. There were a few times it made a weird noise but generally is ok. Handles snow and ice great. Has a pretty smooth ride although is kind of noisy inside, especially on the highway with all the wind and the engine runnig high. Mirrors are the biggest pain in the butt as I took the car several times into the dealership but they still cant figure out why my cars mirror dont adjust to the exact position as before.

Trading it in after 4 months - 2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By Walker - March 17 - 10:00 amOwned vehicle for 4 months. Air conditioning has gone out three times and the dealer tells me that it is very very common. In fact, he told me that it may go out again. Squeeky back window and horrible suspension. The seats are confortable if you are under 6 feet tall. Gas mileage is good for the engine size. If you dont mind not having air conditioning its a great vehicle, just make sure to visit it once or twice in the shop. We have a 2001 Chevy 3500 and a 2002 Corvette with no problems. Chevy just hasnt gotten the Trailblazer down, time for us to look to Jeep for help with an SUV

Good value for the $$$ - 2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By Palmetto - March 15 - 12:11 am110 K mi. Absolutely no mech.issues to date. Good road ride, front seats are very comfortable , rear seats are not comfortable, tight entry/exit. Handles well on the highway, a little whale(ish) around town. The 4,2 L 275 hp engine is quiet and smooth with more than adequate power. Gas mileage is decent: 16-18 mpg city, 20-24 mpg hwy. With 55-60 mph cruise 25+ mpg. LTZ model but a basic Chevy w/bland, cheap plastic interior appointments. Excessive wind noise around windows. OA a decent American SUV for the money, not great, but a good value so far. I have not spent a penny beyond basic maintenance, which is a pleasant departure and surprise for a GM vehicle.

Lucky Me!!! - 2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By girlcrew5 - March 11 - 10:00 amWe bought our Trailblazer ext after owning a GMC minivan for 6 years. We have 4 very active daughters so we were needing plenty of room. I didnt really want that "soccer mom" look anymore. I fell in love with this sporty looking SUV!! It handles beautifully! I usually put an average of 30,000 miles on a vehicle annually. So far in 10,000 miles it has lived up to its reputation! We highly recommend it to everyone.

Bought it to Tow Travel Trailer - 2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By Mjwencl - February 27 - 2:00 amMy Trailblazer LT has had no problems what so ever and I have 10,800 miles on it thus far. I chose this vehicle over the full sized rigs because of the I6 engine. This engine has a wide torque band and a 275 ft/lb of torque. I ordered mine with the 4.10 ratio rear axle to give me 6200 lbs. of towing capacity. The I6 engine is very smooth running and fun to drive.

A few flaws, but great overall - 2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By Slowpoke - February 13 - 2:00 amThe Trailblazer has plenty of power on hand, a surprisingly small turning radius, and great gas mileage for a vehicle as heavy as this and with this much horsepower (average 16 city, 21 hwy). Ive had two problems with it though: 1) the gauges have quit working twice (after the vehicle rests for about an hour, the gauges will begin to work again), 2) the air conditioning quit working once (again, after the vehicle rested for about an hour, the AC started to work again). Also, Ive noticed some vibration-noises in the rear suspension. Besides those issues, Ive thoroughly enjoyed this vehicle, especially on long road trips.
