Overview & Reviews
The standard cargo net is deleted, and new colors are added as Tahoe enters final model year on this platform.
- Lots of cargo space. Powerful V8 engine. Easy to drive.
- Unrefined on-road ride. Mushy brake pedal. Oddly reclined seatbacks.

1999 Tahoe - 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe
By Spotchaser - September 8 - 2:00 amHad the vehicle two years now and I am pleasantly surprised. The engine is strong enough to tow a house but I am getting 16 to 20 miles a gallon. Not bad for a full size SUV. A real nice "road trip" vehicle.

What is wrong with these brakes? - 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe
By amdla - August 13 - 2:00 amWe love this car for comfort, but we are changing brakes every 20,000 miles. We were told by a GMC salesman that there was a glitch in the design which was corrected on later models, but cannot get this confirmed by GM mechanics.

Rock Solid - like the ads - 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe
By Redhead - May 15 - 2:00 amMy Tahoe has performed admirably. Delivered with one defect - passenger seat lumbar didnt work - it stands as the most solid new car I have ever purchased. Oddly enough, it replaced a Lexus LS400 that was never right! This machine can take a beating, haul anything and never fails to perform. 2 months sitting while I travel and starts on the first turn of the key.

Still going - 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe
By ad199030 - May 6 - 2:00 amI have had my Tahoe for over 2 years and for the most part I have had only a couple of items go bad. I would say they are normal wear. I would have to say when something goes wrong it can get expensive to fix.

Owner - 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe
By scheller - April 15 - 2:00 amGreat (small) turning radius. Good power. We leased the car for 4 years which is coming to expiration next month. Now we wished we had purchased it in the first place. This is only the second vehicle which Ive owned in the past 35 years which I truly enjoy. We never plan on selling it. The other vehicle was a 1974 Camaro. Terrific hauling capacity.

Love this SUV - 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe
By Don Parker - February 7 - 2:00 amWe have loved this SUV from the start. Ive had no problems with this clunk that some talk about -- perhaps because of the 4WD, not sure. Also, ours has the towing package and limited slip differential so that could be reason. The truck is very comfortable and the heated seats in winter and front/rear AC in summer make for enjoyable experience.

Not a bad Big Truck - 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe
By BIGRIDER - February 5 - 2:00 amI am nearing the end of the lease on my 1999 Tahoe. Overall, it has been a very good experience. My payments were quite reasonable due to the high residual value. I did not have any big problems until 4.5 years into the lease. I had to spend $600 to repair a problem with the steering component and with my front hub assembly. Since these were safety items, I had to fork over the dough! My transfer case is leaking, and I may need new brakes, but I refuse to fix all of that with less than 4 months remaining. I think it is a good buy for the amount of vehicle you get.
