  • Still Happy after 8 years - 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe

I love my Tahoe! Its the first vehicle Ive owned that was my choice alone. Outside of normal maintenance, only the pump in the reservoir for the windshield cleaner has needed to be replaced. This thing handles like a car, slipping effortlessly into parking places and turning easily. After all this time, it still draws compliments.

My wife drives a Pathfinder of the same year and mine has 87,000 more miles and my tahoe has less wrong with it, better overall cosmetic look inside and outside. The Tahoe is timeless. For this generation its hard to tell who has an old one and who has a new one. By the way, the fuel economy isnt much different between the tahoe and pathfinder and the Tahoe is much heavier.

  • Best Made Tahoe - 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe

Ive owned several Tahoes and I really miss my 2001 Tahoe. Fuel wasnt too bad. I got 20 mpg on the highway. Overall the best vehicle Ive owned. I highly recommend owning one.

  • Great SUV - 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe

We bought my Tahoe new with 90 miles on it. Im now at around 157,000. It still runs great! I havent had any trouble out of it except the back hatch has had a little bit of trouble. I love the roominess and it drives great! Great storage area and lots of passenger room. The only thing that I dont like is the gas mileage. It gets about 16-17 mpg, which is really good for an SUV, but would be much better in a car. If your looking for a good suv, then this is great! But if youre wanting a vehicle with great gas mileage then choose a car.

  • Nice Vehicle! - 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe

We bought this Tahoe brand new with 15 miles on it. And we have never had any trouble out of it. We have taken it to be serviced every time it needed to be and its not that expensive on upkeep unlike my wifes Mercedes! This would probably be the best car for your money if your looking for a rugged rock hard family car! However the gas mileage is ok but could be better, especially with these high gas prices.

  • Excellent highway vehicle - 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe

This is the best car I have ever had, which have included Mercedes, a BMW, a VW, Fords, Toyotas, and an Infinity. 20 mpg on the highway, smooth ride, and no problems in 142,000 miles. Wat it doesnt have in fuel economy, it more than makes up for in reliability.

  • Cool Chevy Tahoe! - 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe

We love the four wheel drive! The LS model is just fine for us. It has cloth seats,no leather! Ours only seats six. That is a major drawback.

  • Awesome SUV - 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe

We drive approx 30,000 miles a year and this has been one great SUV. After 130,000 miles, the only thing I have had to replace is the water pump at 60,000 miles. Very low maintenance. I put in a K&N air filter. We get about 17-18 mpg on highway and average about 16.5 all around. Can feel a bit more power on takeoff from the new airfilter. Brakes have been awesome. I replaced the front brakes at 110,000 miles and they still had over 1/2 their pad left!

The Chevy Tahoe is an excellent SUV, great for families and has been a wonderful car for trips. I would definitely buy this vehicle again! Very reliable, it has never failed to get us to our destination and is very easy to maintain.

  • Not bad but not good either. - 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe
    By -

I have been the original owner of my 2001 Chevy Tahoe Z71. I have had minimal trouble with it. I now have 100,000 miles on it and am starting to expeience some difficulties. The window motors are starting to burn up and the windshield washer motors are starting to crack and fail due to freezing. I have concerns about the transmission. It has been known to slip and I am the last one of all of my friends that has not had the transmission rebuilt. I have done all regular maintenance and I change the oil every 500 miles. My complaints are not with fuel mileage as I have the 5.3L motor and I average 15-16 mpg and I have more room than a 4Runner that get about the same mileage. Poor handling!
