Overview & Reviews
The standard cargo net is deleted, and new colors are added as Tahoe enters final model year on this platform.
- Lots of cargo space. Powerful V8 engine. Easy to drive.
- Unrefined on-road ride. Mushy brake pedal. Oddly reclined seatbacks.

Transmission Problems - 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe
By jpwood - August 19 - 2:00 amI loved this vehicle until the transmission failed twice in 60,000 miles. The first time, it was covered by warranty. The second time it wasnt. According to the mechanics that worked on it, GM made a cheaper gear by welding it rather than machining it. Well it doesnt last. This will be the last GM product I ever buy brand new!!

The dreaded Clunk - 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe
By FLTAHOE - July 8 - 2:00 amI recently sold my 99 tahoe, I had the exact clunk that many have written about. The dealer greased, replaced u- joints and replaced the yoke. This made the clunk go away for about 3000 miles, after that it came back again. I was told that there was nothing more that Chevrolet was willing to do...Guess I may go and buy an Expedition.

Clunk again - 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe
By kramer-again - May 15 - 2:00 amIm having the cluck problem again (at 51000 miles)after having a new transmission put in last time among other things (see my previous review). It was corrected for a while. Im convinced there is a design flaw which cannot be fixed with parts. Ill be getting rid of this thing as soon as the dealership temporarily fixes it again.
