Overview & Reviews
Chevrolet offers revised 16- and 17-inch aluminum wheels, and 17-inch all-season tires are now optional on LT models. Other new features include a tire-pressure monitor and Hydroboost brakes that provide more reserve stopping power and decreased pedal effort, according to Chevrolet. A traction assist feature is available on two-wheel-drive Tahoes equipped with a locking rear differential. The trailering package includes a 7-to-4 pin brake wiring adapter. Finally, for added safety, there is now a front-passenger seatbelt reminder.
- Strong engines, roomy and versatile interior, numerous available amenities.
- Spotty build quality, interior materials could use improvement.

No more GM - 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe
By Disappointed - September 12 - 11:19 pmNice looking truck, lots of power, very comfortable, but trouble started early. Repeated problems with the transfer case that should have been fixed under warrenty, but turned into a parts changing excercise. The transmission now slips and clunks. The shaft in the steering column wore out. A rattle under the vehicle that can not be located (not a heat shield inside the exhaust?), the climate control can not hold a consistant temperature. Im trading it for an Infiniti while it still has some trade in value.

KING OF THE ROAD: Best Family Hauler - 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe
By Z71 For4 - September 8 - 10:00 amLooked at all the rest; minivans (Sienna, Caravan, Odyssey), crossovers (Pacifica), mid-fullsize suvs (Toureg, XC90, MDX, RX330, Armada). We kept coming back to the Z71. Safety features, cargo space and creature comforts all fit the bill. When you want to travel in style, in any climate, you cant beat the value this mature platform brings to the table. Youll find yourself jumping behind the wheel for no reason at all other than to tour the neighborhood! And...yes...for those who whine and pummel the Tahoe for its fuel efficiency...maybe you should have considered a smaller vehicle or a hybrid..hmm? Until then...leave the BIG DOGS alone!

A great SUV for the money - 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe
By lovemytahoe - August 5 - 5:19 amWonderful car - we drive from LA to Scottsdale 4 times per year. The freeway ride is luxurious and comfortable. The DVD player is a must have for the kids. Third row seat is pretty handy, but wow, you get a lot of storage space when you remove them. I considered a Range Rover but am so glad I bought this - its not as luxurious, but the bang for the buck is much higher in the Tahoe. All this and it tackles rain and snow on ski trips flawlessly.

Bad fuel economy 2004 Tahoe - 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe
By jennifer - July 25 - 3:03 pmThis is my third Tahoe. In the past, Ive gotten about 20 mpg on my daily commute, and have been very satisfied with the performance. This new Tahoe gets 12-14 mpg! Very disappointed. Dealership has checked vehicle, nothing they can do. Fuel economy will be the top priority in my next vehicle purchase, the Tahoe wont make the cut. Cant even trade at this point because of the flood of rebates and "employee pricing" out there - Ive had it for 7 months and owe $12K more than someone can buy a NEW one for! Makes it impossible to get rid of!!

Very Happy GM Truck Owner - 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe
By C. Taylor - July 8 - 4:35 amFor this very basic LS, I bought 18" Michelin Pilots (truck came with 16" Goodyears, I believe)- truck now gets average of 20 mpg. I put in many miles per annum - dont just accept the "myth" of poor mileage! Also, the smoother-riding, after-market tires enable my elderly parents to enjoy traveling in this high-riding limo.

Z71 is top notch! - 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe
By KAGs Z71 - June 14 - 8:38 pmI have always owned GM vehicles, but never a full-size SUV. GM and Chevy do not get the recognition that they deserve! This Tahoe is great in the snow and surprisingly easy to maneuver in tight spaces. 16,000 miles and not a single complaint, and great service from the Chevy dealer. Sport Red with the factory brush guard gets the looks and comments from many. I just smile and say, "Yeah, its mine.
