Worst Car I Ever Owned - 1992 Chevrolet Lumina
By Brian - April 1 - 11:13 pmMy Dad pushed me into this car while I was unemployed, after wrecking the family heirloom (again), the 87 Celebrity wagon. The Lumina was as unreliable as the 94 Grand Am GT Quad4 HO I used to have, but was totally lame on top of it, and had worse fuel economy than the GAGT. In typical 90s GM fashion, there were no catastrophes with the car (saving it from a 1 in reliability), but literally every month something needed attention to keep it running.

Cannot Beat This - 1997 Chevrolet Lumina
By Hank - March 29 - 9:35 pmFor the price I paid for this car, you cannot beat it. Ive put well over 230,000 miles on this car since 2000, and it still has plenty of power, excellent on gas. Well better than most new cars today!!!! You just need to know how to take care of your car. For it to last as long as you want it to.

A solid but very basic car - 1998 Chevrolet Lumina
By CarLuva - March 23 - 11:24 amThe lifters started sticking when the engine was cold around 60K, but other than making quite a racket, there was no negative effect. Most of the work I had done was routine maintenance (battery, alternator, turn signal switch). Around 90K, it started having some more serious problems (the most expensive was a leaky intake manifold gasket), but nothing terribly out of the ordinary. The 3.1L V6 had adequate power, and the automatic transmission was reasonably responsive. The biggest shortcoming of the car was interior build quality: Both sunvisor clips and one cupholder broke under normal use. Gas mileage was very good for such a big car: I got 27 MPG highway going about 75 MPH.

Awesome car! - 1997 Chevrolet Lumina
By JBaz - March 22 - 8:40 pmI bought my 97 Lumina, two years ago at 160,000 miles! It still runs today, and Im at almost 203,000 miles. The only problems I have had was the alternator needing to be replaced. Other than that, my car still has pick-up for having the mileage it does. Its definitely a great car, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Old "Mina" - 1990 Chevrolet Lumina
By Mol - March 20 - 2:03 pmFor what this car lacks in the looks department it more than makes up for in the reliability department! It literally doesnt matter what you do to it, this car refuses to quit running- and Ive done a LOT to it... It totes my dogs around, its been hit by a deer... its been left in the woods with the windows down in the rain (by the previous owner...). At 147,000 miles the rides now a little dicey sometimes, but that can be expected with any geriatric car!

Nice Whip - 1996 Chevrolet Lumina
By major figgaz - March 16 - 6:51 pmI bought mine couple of months ago it is dark green it has good looking rims. I just gotta tune it up and get the intake manifold gasket fixed. The interior was left really dirty but I cleaned it up as much as i can but there is still stains in some places. I really like the car its prob the only car in Chevy thats reliable.

Good Value For Money Car - 1997 Chevrolet Lumina
By mercara - March 4 - 10:27 amI bought this car used in 2000 with about 35K miles. It now has 138K miles and still drives like it will go to 200K at least. As others have pointed out it gives great mileage. Had the alternator replaced but no manifold issues yet. Honestly for the price I paid in 2000, I have got full use out of this car. If it died on me today, I wouldnt feel bad since I got my moneys worth out of this car. If you find a low mileage car that has been maintained well, it is a good value.

A Great Overall Car - 1999 Chevrolet Lumina
By mindbreaker21601 - February 11 - 8:39 pmI just bought this car and it only had around 73,000 miles on it. I love the premium sound package that it has and the great bass from the factory speakers. My only regret is that they no longer make this car.

1993 Lumina Euro 3.4 - 1993 Chevrolet Lumina
By Jim Borgman - February 9 - 10:02 amMy Lumina now has 102,000 miles on it, the only problems experienced was the serpentine belt failing and the timing belt breaking. I have had 26 MPG highway and 20 city. The car is an excellent automobile, I just can see myself trading it in or selling it. It has the 3.4 engine which is trouble free, I do take it in every 3,000 for total lubes so the car uses no oil. The suspension is tight and so far the exhaust system is still fine. I do wish it came standard with beverage holders but that is a small need. Love it.
