Upon Further Review - 2001 Chevrolet Lumina
By lrobby - December 23 - 10:44 amSince driving back from FL last Spring (see my earlier review) this car still impresses. The mileage has remained mich higher than the official ratings. City driving has been over 21 even in harsh conditions. The car drives nicely on snow covered roads. No ABS is a bit of a change since even my 99 Camaro has it. Mechanically, everything has been fine except an occasional extra noise from the starter. Not an emergency.

Incredible Car - 1996 Chevrolet Lumina
By Jeff - October 21 - 2:00 amMost reliable vehicle I have ever had. Bought it at 90,000 miles in Jan 2003 and have 317,000 miles on it now. Have replaced transmission, water pump and air conditioner in last seven years. Purchase price was $4000 and repairs have come to $3800. A fantastic investment for 227,000 miles of transportation.

Love my Ms. Lumina - 1991 Chevrolet Lumina
By daniellee - June 28 - 12:12 pmI absolutely love my lumina. she is amazing love the mpg. usually get like 450 to a tank ^_^ Its a base with a 3.1. I love that engine no rust no tears rips or anything shes scuffed and scratched at my left turn signal comes on but doesnt blink its weird. LOL sometimes she will shudder when the ac is on its weird but it calms down when you roll the windows down but other than that she is amazing new headlamps new tires and were good to go.

Lumina-tor - 1993 Chevrolet Lumina
By Chevyman - June 24 - 4:40 pmThis car has been with my fire chief since it was brand new, Im a volunteer firefighter. Once i turned 14, Im 18 now, he sold it to me for $750 with 145k miles. It has 230k now i love it, i take care of it i expect it to last another maybe 100k. Its very reliable, dont like the gas mileage that much and the interior but thats about it. Handles great, looks great, drives great, everything! Also one of a kind white with tinted windows, and flames on it! Not the best flames but hey, $300 job!

Most Reliable Car Weve Ever Owned - 1996 Chevrolet Lumina
By Chaya - June 5 - 2:27 pmWe have had this car for a few years now. We purchased it used, of course. It has broke down a few times, but has NEVER stopped running. Nothing stops this car! It is definitely worth paying the money to keep it up and have for its lifetime. The gas mileage doesnt beat our Dodge Neon, but we would never sell our Chevy Lumina. When it gets cold our other cars stall and sometimes wont even start. The Lumina starts every time we crank it as long as it has gas. Seems like Chevy has been doing a good job. Their cars seem to last more years than most other names even when you have gotten caught up with other things letting them sit for a while. I once had a Chevy Beretta. Also a Great car!

I love this car - 1998 Chevrolet Lumina
By Michael S. Terrell - June 2 - 12:33 pmThere is nothing wrong with our lumina, yeah she has had a few engine mishaps in her time but we drive her all the time. Shes 12 years old and over 170,000 miles but still runs great. I dont need her for speed just get me where Im going. Great on gas for long distances. Drove her from NY to Texas, then to California a few times, Arizona also. My wife wants an rv, thats fine. I plan on a new Chevy Lumina someday. She needs a wash and wax, and in/out cleaning but still looks great, rides great. Boo yahh!

Nice Ride - 2001 Chevrolet Lumina
By Lrobby99 - May 25 - 8:19 pmJust drove this car to Wisconsin from Florida. I carefully monitored the fuel efficiency was very impressed by the numbers. Peaked at 33.4 mpg and averaged 32.30 mpg, all Interstate miles in relatively good conditions. Besides that the car accelerates nicely, handles relatively well, and rides pretty smooth. Mine has only 60k now and I hope to run this car for quite a while.

By jay - May 4 - 8:13 pmI bought the lumina Euro of Craigslist for $500. It has over 211,000 mi. I dont know if this car has the original motor in it. I run and drives great. The motor is so in tune it sounds like the 97 olds cutlass 3100 sfi. The is my 3rd lumina I had a 93 Euro and 91 z34.

My Baby - 1993 Chevrolet Lumina
By Franky - April 30 - 8:59 pmI bought it with 135k and drove it till the tranny went out at 215k. I did have to replace things like the ignition switch, starter, and alternator. It was a wonderful car to me and we have been through a lot together. I loved that I could get the tires to let out a chirp when it shifted from 2nd to 3rd! The only time it left me stranded is when the alternator went out (or I was stuck in the snow or I hit a curb)! My brother just bought a 94 and I am excited for him!

Luminas are the best - 1997 Chevrolet Lumina
By Luminafan - April 29 - 3:27 pmI bought my chevy lumina from a man in 2010 for $600 with 91124 miles on it and the only thing i have had to replace is the head gasket. I only paid $380 to get that repaired. they should have put cd players in them instead of tape players but i was gonna but a new one anyway.
