Going to miss him! - 1993 Chevrolet Lumina
By Lynnann - April 16 - 9:00 pmI got him in 1998 its now 2010. I never had any big problems with him until this past year. One thing after another is going wrong. But hes old and has 98,000 miles on him and he is starting to rust. The one thing I didnt like about him is getting at the battery. But he was a purchase I am glad I made.

Lousy Lumina - 1997 Chevrolet Lumina
By KenGeisinger - April 14 - 11:34 amI bought this car with very low mileage back in 1999. I also have a 1998 Ford Taurus which is very comparable in specs with about 60,000 more miles. I have had very little trouble with the Taurus but a lot of trouble with this car. I had to replace a intake manifold gasket and a fuel pump. The former I did myself and the latter cost me over $500 about a year ago.

good car - 2000 Chevrolet Lumina
By DEE, ar - March 25 - 10:58 amThis is the best car I have ever owned. I have over 135,000 miles on it and it still drives like a dream. I have only done routine maintenance. I did have to get the intake manifold done and the brakes plus get new tires. Now I am told it needs rack and pinion but the car has performed over 8 years for me and I think the repairs are worth it. Love my car. P.S., the check engine lights comes on and off but this hasnt shown a problem

Old Faithful - 2001 Chevrolet Lumina
By D. Johnson - March 4 - 6:03 pmHave had this car for several years and now have over 204,000 miles on it. Highway mileage is 30 + which on a car of this size and weight is good. The only drawback for me is getting in and out of the car, comfort while driving is good even though the seat is worn. Repairs have been minimal. The intake gasket had to be replaced and other than that only brakes, tires, oil changes and other normal maint. has been necessary.

A Great American Car - 2001 Chevrolet Lumina
By Jim - February 26 - 5:56 pmI had a 96 Lumina that went forever with no maintenance. Bought this 2001 for son, with 74K miles, and hes driven it up to 150,000 miles now with virtually NO maintenance and NO problems. A tremendously well made reliable car.

I was surprised...I love my Lumina - 1990 Chevrolet Lumina
By amcelr2 - February 20 - 4:36 pmI brought my Lumina 2 years ago...It was already 18 years old but it only had 90,000 miles on it. It was a 1 owner but it had been sitting for about 2 years. I wasnt crazy about it when I went and looked at it but once I drove it I was really impressed and I got a really good deal. I have had no problems at all besides brakes and I have put 55,000 miles on it. It is very well made and fun to drive. It holds the road and has all the power I need and then some. It is very reliable, I know I can hop right in it and take it anywhere I need to go and it looks really nice cleaned up. Even though it is now 20 years old, it is one of the best vehicles I have ever brought! Very well made...

Wonderful Car! - 1999 Chevrolet Lumina
By Louisiana Lady - February 15 - 7:26 pmThe 1999 Chevy Lumina is the best car ever. I have only had to provide basic maintenance and it still runs like new! My Lumina has 177,00 miles on it and Im hoping to get another 100,000 out of it! Its still extremely comfortable and handled VERY well after hitting a deer doing 50mph! It never swerved or tried to leave the road. The damage was under $2000.00. It took the impact very well. I only wish theyd start making the Lumina again...Id surely buy another one! Way to go Chevy!

Great Car - 1997 Chevrolet Lumina
By George - February 14 - 4:28 pmI bought this car with 70k miles and it now has 125k. I am just now getting rid of it because the fuel lines have rusted and it wont pass emissions. It still runs great. It starts immediately on the coldest days. Fuel economy typically 25 mpg. Only problem I ever had with it was to replace an alternator. Had a check engine light on for several years, but until now I could turn it off long enough to get it through emissions. One minor thing I like about this car is its very comfortable to drive, the arm rest by the driver is at a perfect position. Im strongly tempted to fix it and keep it even though itd cost more than the cars worth.

Decent Car - 1999 Chevrolet Lumina
By nc3e - February 11 - 3:04 pmWe purchased this car almost 8 years ago, and it has been very reliable over the years. The engine runs strong, although it isnt the most powerful engine out there. It gets better fuel mileage than I anticipated, and with 189,000 miles on the clock, there are no interior rattles or squeaks and no exterior rust. Recently, we have had problems with the vehicle overheating and the coolant leaks at various places (gaskets are rotting). The steering and suspension can be a little frightening, at highway speeds there is noticeable vibration and grip around turns isnt good, even for a car of this size. Brakes always feel weak, even when replaced, and will begin to pulse on long trips.

It Keeps On Going - 1998 Chevrolet Lumina
By ddrhj - February 6 - 3:01 pmThis is my first and only car, but it has been a great one. After 115,000 miles, its reliability and performance are still wonderful. The fuel mileage has hovered around 30 miles/gallon over the life of the car and the maintenance has been extremely minimal.
