Overview & Reviews
Two fresh colors are available, but the available convertible model is the big news. Equipped with a manual-folding top, a hard tonneau that extends along the rear wall of the passenger compartment and a trunk that holds golf bags. Lower-powered airbags are not available on the Corvette.
- World class performance. Amazing cargo capacity. Easy to drive.
- Interior materials are not world class.

Only a Vette - 1998 Chevrolet Corvette
By sean.c - January 5 - 1:30 pm98 Vette Ragtop with the six speed. Unbeatable performance-to-dollar ratio. Bought it with 17k miles on it the Delco 12 CD-changer never has worked, the steering column lock failed first at 18,000 miles and then again six months later. Both times got no help from GM (dealer and corporate), $500 per repair out of my pocket. Finally found a company out of Texas that sold an aftermarket bypass and had the local Vette shop install it. Problem solved. The performance and status outweigh the GM quirks. After my experience with GM customer service I would NEVER again purchase a GM product...except, of course, another Vette. Go for the extended warranty next time, Ill need it!

Dream Come True - 1998 Chevrolet Corvette
By Justin K - October 29 - 2:00 amBought the car used but have loved every minute of my ownership. Only real problem was with the electronic steering lock. Phenomenal storage capability, even with the top down. Acceleration is great...able to beat most of the cars I cross. Great handling, even at high speeds (130+ mph). Car turns heads and garners questions all the time. There is nothing in the world like driving an American classic with the wind in your hair.

1998 Corvette Coupe - 1998 Chevrolet Corvette
By NYgeorge - April 4 - 3:00 amExcellent performance and still good fuel economy. Ride is considerably good for a true sports car. Removeable top is nice and still has adequate luggae storage for road trips. Best feature is the Corvette family and wave :)

C5 vette - 1998 Chevrolet Corvette
By 911vettebenz - November 25 - 2:00 amI pursched this car as a runabout. I grew up with Porsche and have had numberous in the stable and currently have 2 911s. I enjoy the car. It is relatively reliable with no significant events to date except that the battery came apart from the past and leaked down in the engine bay. Upon opening the trunk in the rain, it all pours inside the storage bay. This suspension is alittle soft, so I have to adjust the ride to performance mode to stop from being thrown into the roof. The performance is adequate, the zo6 is probably the better option.

Outstanding Performance Automobile! - 1998 Chevrolet Corvette
By jimhild - November 11 - 2:00 am63000 miles, no real issues. 28+ mpg on highway, 165+ mph capability. Trunk will hold two golf bags and luggage for two people for three weeks. We have driven as many as 960 miles in a single day and the car is comfortable and easy to drive. Active handling is a benefit. Indy Pace Car colors and trim is bold, but tastefully done. Many, many thumbs up, photo requests and discussions when stopping for fuel. Would do it again.

Owned 30 vettes - 1998 Chevrolet Corvette
By Eddie RJ - September 18 - 2:00 amBest vette convertible I ever owned. Had a gauge burn out and thats it in 62,000 miles. Changed tires to Firestone Firehawk for better all round performance. Car turns heads and always gets comments. Love the red/tan color and its a pleasure to own. Had over 30 vettes and this is the most pleasurable yet.

1998 Vette - 1998 Chevrolet Corvette
By Stros - April 29 - 2:00 amBought my Vette about 6 months ago. Prices are really coming down, since this is a 5 year old car still the most current body style though! The performance is awesome, totally fast enough stock, with enough potential for modifications, if you want to take it to the track. Will outhandle me no problem (I dont have a death wish). Gas mileage is great and the car is MUCH more comfortable than the C4. One of the prettiest cars on the road.
