Overview & Reviews
The Chevrolet Colorado is Chevy's entry in the highly competitive compact truck segment. Like its rivals, the Colorado is closer to midsize than truly compact. Accordingly, it offers a reasonable amount of hauling capability without the added cost and bulk of a full-size pickup. As is customary in this segment, Chevrolet offers extended-cab and four-door crew-cab layouts, multiple bed lengths and available off-road preparation.
Older versions of the Chevy Colorado could be worth a look if you need a basic work truck, but their four- and five-cylinder engines are weak for this class (though you may find a few examples with a robust optional V8 engine). Colorados from 2015 and later are dramatically better, with competitive powertrains, up-to-date technology features and a spacious interior.

Excellent Small Pickup - 2004 Chevrolet Colorado
By Pete M - June 27 - 2:00 amMy Colorado came with the I5, auto, buckets and the ext. cab. I spend countless hours in my truck. Contrary to the pro reviews, I find nothing wrong with the interior design/materials. Compared to Japanese branded trucks, the quality difference in materials was negligible. Every part on this truck is aligned as expected and the body panels are perfectly matched and spaced. The ride is wonderful, the truck goes exactly where you point it, and doesnt wander over bumpy roads. Dodge, Toyota and Nissan trucks were nice, but not near as good. GM got it right, this is an excellent truck.

A great new truck from Chevy - 2004 Chevrolet Colorado
By omowasu - June 27 - 2:00 amI test drove this truck today, and WOW, GM has designed a great new smaller pickup. I personally found it to be a much better truck than the Dakota. The Colorado gets much, much better mileage than the Dakota. Also, the Colorado handles better and accelerates superbly. Granted, you can get the Dakota with a V8, but why would you want to suck up the 13mpg?

2005 Red Chevy Colorado Z-71 - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By redchevycolorado - June 24 - 7:49 amIts a great truck if you want to have decent fuel mileage, but still have the ability to tow or haul. I regularly tow a 200 pound trailer with an 1100 pound generator on it, and I cant tell its behind me (max tow weight is 4000 pounds). When hauling bags of sand or concrete blocks, the stock suspension does exceptionally well, with only a 3 - 3.5 inch drop. (An upgrade to load adjusting shocks though keeps this around 1 - 1.5 inches).

Sled tower - 2004 Chevrolet Colorado
By blaine - April 11 - 4:32 pmthe truck has been 100% reliable with 110,000 km on it. Average fuel economy has been 23.5 mpg. I did not care for the factory seats so I upgraded them to buckets with a console. I use the truck alot for towing snowmobiles on a trailer up mountain roads and for work. the truck has also performed well off road when required.

07 colorado - 2007 Chevrolet Colorado
By geobee - March 3 - 9:13 amThis is a very nice truck. I got the z71 pkg, and I have to say it is the most capable 4x4 I have ever owned. That is due in part to the new Eaton G80 locker. Smooth and quiet, nice interior etc. Two thumbs up.
