Model Overview:

The Chevrolet Colorado is Chevy's entry in the highly competitive compact truck segment. Like its rivals, the Colorado is closer to midsize than truly compact. Accordingly, it offers a reasonable amount of hauling capability without the added cost and bulk of a full-size pickup. As is customary in this segment, Chevrolet offers extended-cab and four-door crew-cab layouts, multiple bed lengths and available off-road preparation.

Older versions of the Chevy Colorado could be worth a look if you need a basic work truck, but their four- and five-cylinder engines are weak for this class (though you may find a few examples with a robust optional V8 engine). Colorados from 2015 and later are dramatically better, with competitive powertrains, up-to-date technology features and a spacious interior.

  • Love the truck - 2008 Chevrolet Colorado

I keep my trucks a long time. Last two were 11 years and 9 years. I plan on driving the Colorado for at least 12 years or more. We love this truck. Id ordered it and had exactly the options on it I wanted. I am a little disappointed in gas mileage. Tows my 14 ft fishing boat great. My last truck was a K1500 and I was concerned the small 5 ft bed would be too small. But its been adequate. Handles great in the snow.

  • Power and Looks! - 2004 Chevrolet Colorado

I love it so far. I think it has plenty of power and gets much better gas milage than I imagined.

  • big orange and beautifull! - 2004 Chevrolet Colorado

Great truck. I traded a 2001 Mercedes convertible and I have yet to miss the Mercedes. I dont get much better than 11 mpg but I never get on the highway. I picked the orange color and everyone loves it.Love to deep bed and the tailgate design. Trans is very smooth. RPT radio is cool, wish I had bought the satellite radio.

  • Good Little Truck - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado

I did a lot of homework before buying this truck and test drove most of the competitors. I liked the Colorado and it met my needs at least as well as any of the others, but I was concerned because of the poor reviews the "experts" had given it. I think the experts missed the boat on this one. I had a couple of rough spots with it right out of the box (electrical problems and front end alignment) but these were quickly corrected by my dealer and I have been very pleased with it for the nearly three years I have owned it. Performance, utility and appearance are excellent and it has done all Ive asked of it. Dont be fooled by the poor reviews - this is a nice little truck.

  • Roll Over - 2004 Chevrolet Colorado

Had the truck for 4 years and never had any problems. Got good gas mileage and enough towing power to pull a fishing boat. Wrecked/totaled it this winter in icy weather, rolled once landing on its wheels - with the engine still running. Tough truck that was built well, definitely got my moneys worth and am looking to buy another.

  • Switched from Ford to Chevy - 2008 Chevrolet Colorado

I finally switched over to try a Chevy. Ive been driving a new Mazda B4000 (Ranger) and it just wasnt cutting it. This new truck drives great, feels like a car, and is super comfortable.

  • 2008 3.7 liter, 2WD regular cab - 2008 Chevrolet Colorado

I sold my 2007 Silverado to get into a truck that was more responsive and I found it in my Colorado. The 5 cylinder offers plenty of power and in line motors are known for torque, this one does not disappoint. The interior is basic low end truck but you get what you pay for. I have no problems with the performance, ride or handling.

  • 1st Truck - 2007 Chevrolet Colorado

Bought the truck to haul a lightweight trailer in the summer and get around town in the cold winter months So far no problems truck hauls well, drove to Texas last winter with 50 below weather with no problem Gas mileage better than the van we had before - cruising at 110Km we get 32 miles to the gallon Installed a cap on the back to keep items dry

  • Not happy - 2006 Chevrolet Colorado
    By -

Im not happy with Colorado at all. The mpg is far less than rated. I could drive a full size pickup and get the same. Small inside, the back speakers quit working, the ac fan works sometime, plastic inside falling apart, seat belt falling apart. The screws fell out. I think the seat is going next. No power, I have 40k miles on it .

  • Great Truck - 2008 Chevrolet Colorado
    By -

The truck has a lot of torque and gets pretty decent gas mileage. I put a K&N cold air intake and performance catback and it increased the power and fuel economy even more. I am in the military and use my truck to go home on leave. Gets me there without spending to much on gas. I love the style of it, looks sporty. The interior is roomy for passengers or cargo. It hauls my fourwheeler almost like its not there.
