Overview & Reviews
The Chevrolet Colorado is Chevy's entry in the highly competitive compact truck segment. Like its rivals, the Colorado is closer to midsize than truly compact. Accordingly, it offers a reasonable amount of hauling capability without the added cost and bulk of a full-size pickup. As is customary in this segment, Chevrolet offers extended-cab and four-door crew-cab layouts, multiple bed lengths and available off-road preparation.
Older versions of the Chevy Colorado could be worth a look if you need a basic work truck, but their four- and five-cylinder engines are weak for this class (though you may find a few examples with a robust optional V8 engine). Colorados from 2015 and later are dramatically better, with competitive powertrains, up-to-date technology features and a spacious interior.

Gets the stares! - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By Tyson45454 - April 20 - 10:00 amTurns heads everywhere I go. Way much better than the S-10. Not as nice as the Silverado, but up in its class. Like a ROCK!

Good choice for its class - 2004 Chevrolet Colorado
By efdake - March 14 - 10:00 amKeep in mind that I am upgrading from a 89 Ford Ranger XLT 5 speed manual standard cab with 4 cyls. With that being said, I looked at the Nissan Titan, Toyota Tundra, GMC Canyon and the Chevy Colorado. Ruled out the Titan and Tundra for gas mileage and size. I was impressed when I drove the Canyon and went to the Chevy dealership to do the 24 hour test drive as the Colorado was available. I ended up purchasing the Colorado. Found one with the features and options I wanted. After driving this machine for a week-and-a-half I am very impressed. Good ride, smooth and easy to drive. IÂ’m glad I chose this vehicle. See my favorite feature list.

back killer seats - 2015 Chevrolet Colorado
By gary sanders - March 8 - 12:47 pmGive this truck an extended test drive. Like the truck but HATE the seats. I have 18000 miles on this truck and its been pure misury on my back and legs. I dont know what to do because I have invested so much money in this truck that I cant trade for quite a while. I have bought a cushion but that dont help much. Get lots of comments about the great looks. If they only knew.

Beautiful truck minus transmission - 2015 Chevrolet Colorado
By Aaron plunkett - February 21 - 10:44 amI love my truck. The only problem i have with it is the uncomfortable front seats where my thighs hit the seats. Built up too much. Puts a lump in the middle of the leg. Also the transmission is terrible. I have brought it to the dealer 4 times and they cant figure out why it shutters at a certain rpm. The transmisson sometimes doesnt know what gear to be in and often luggs. Almost like in a manual transmission if you shift to a higher gear to early. This affects the engine performance. And it doesnt happen all the time which makes it difficult to diagnose. Over all a great truck looks wise and performance when working. Not sure i would buy again if i had the opportunity to because of the problems. Had a 2007 tacoma with over 200000 miles on it and it ran better and had the same gas milage.

Cool and Quick - 2004 Chevrolet Colorado
By nursemikern - January 31 - 10:00 amI went from a f250 to the colorado. Power was a bit lower but it more than made up for it in performance and gas milage. Only problem I had was something loose above the adjoining doors on the drivers side. Dealership fixed it without a fuss. So far the truck has been awesome. The exterior is fantastic. The interior is great, just wish it had the sunglass holder thing on the inside roof. Im 6 ft 3 and I fit in it just fine which is a big plus. Was concerned about the lower power (compared to the 250) but so far the truck has come through without a problem.

MY FIRST CHEVY - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By groundeffx - January 20 - 10:00 amI AM 6"6 AND I CAN DRIVE VERY COMFORTABLY WITH A 6YR OLD AND 2 BABY CAR SEATS IN THE REAR(3 KIDS). I WOULD NEVER BELIEVE THAT I COULD FIT THEM IN THE REAR AND BE ABLE TO DRIVE ON A 10 HOUR VACATION RIDE AND NOT FEEL CRAMPED AT MY SIZE ALOT OF ROOM .

All Around Fun Truck - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By RowdyRado - December 30 - 9:56 pmThis truck is the best thing Chevy has come out with in a while. A lot of people knock the I-5 Motor, but its great. Im 65" and I have plenty of room in this truck. Its a real performer on & offroad. Driving 50 miles round trip for school every day isnt so bad in this with the great gas mileage. XM Radio is a great feature too. MP3 Player is really nice as well. This really does put an S-10 to shame. It also rides considerably well considering its a 4x4.

Expensive but Worth it and has aged well - 2015 Chevrolet Colorado
By John Adams - October 27 - 5:05 amFor those who need a pickup, the Colorado is a great compromise size wise for those who want to park it in their garage and yet still be able to haul stuff. The Z 71 option has everything but cooled front seats and garage door controls to make the option list complete. Drives easily and smoothly with v 6 option. Low 20s combined mpg with mid-to high 20s at highway speeds. Brakes solid. Interior space functional for carrying stuff inside, and back seat roomy enough for adults when needed. A bit pricey compared to full size alternatives, but delivers functionality of a full size with greater driving ease particularly in parking lot. Combination of city and highway driving produces in excess of 23 mpg. Only routine maintenance needed in 2 1/2 years and 26,000 miles of driving. Continues to impress with smoothness and ease of driving experience. Over time the satisfaction of the vehicles performance has outweighed the premium paid.
