Overview & Reviews
The Chevrolet Colorado is Chevy's entry in the highly competitive compact truck segment. Like its rivals, the Colorado is closer to midsize than truly compact. Accordingly, it offers a reasonable amount of hauling capability without the added cost and bulk of a full-size pickup. As is customary in this segment, Chevrolet offers extended-cab and four-door crew-cab layouts, multiple bed lengths and available off-road preparation.
Older versions of the Chevy Colorado could be worth a look if you need a basic work truck, but their four- and five-cylinder engines are weak for this class (though you may find a few examples with a robust optional V8 engine). Colorados from 2015 and later are dramatically better, with competitive powertrains, up-to-date technology features and a spacious interior.

Nothing Special but a Great Truck - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By scodyt - July 25 - 12:00 pmI have only had the truck for two months, and I am finding the more I drive it the more I like it. It is not an impressive vehicle, but is a great daily driver and gets good fuel mileage for a 4x4. I drive about 500 miles a week and am getting better mileage than I ever got in a 2 wheel- drive Blazer 4.3L without losing too much torque.

Ext. cab Auto Z 85 3.5 LS - 2004 Chevrolet Colorado
By Levins - July 3 - 10:00 amOverall Im very pleased with my new Colorado, its an improvement over my old S-10 . First of all there is more power! You can accelerate up hill with ease. It drives strong with a load as well. I like the interior for the most part, wish some of the sharp edge plastic wasnt there! I also like the higher safety ratings. Few other minor problems: Seat belt lock too easily. I can roll into a yield sign and try to lean over to see the road and I get held back. Maybe the dealer can fix that. I like the look in general especially the front end.

Great Little Truck - 2004 Chevrolet Colorado
By cory395 - May 15 - 10:00 amIn the past 18 yrs I have owned two four cylynder Nissan P/U trucks..I was redy for something Bigger, much bigger. I was shopping for a full size, NOT TOO USED, used truck under $20,000. I was not having a great deal of luck when the dealer asked me if I would be interested in a new truck under the same price. I bit his lead and went for it. He showed me the Colorado. I am very glad that I gave him my time. It may not be the FULL size truck that I was looking for but it is this: New, under 20K, more powerful than my previous Nissans and sporty as he-l looking. I got more truck than I was used to without the big sticker price and gas guzzling cost of

I like it - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By Sam C - March 28 - 8:46 amI really like the fuel economy this truck delivers. Even when towing my trailer, it still does quite well. The 225 hp engine is a nice performer. I love the yellow paint and the sport interior.

A BIG truck in a SMALL body....... win win - 2015 Chevrolet Colorado
By simcha - March 13 - 10:14 amFirstly, do your self a favor and get the beefier V6 3.6 engine and tow package. Its only a couple hundred dollars more and it brings the truck from being a mild mannered "daily commuter" with some capability, to a truck that that will give many half-ton pickups a run for their money. There is nothing more embarrassing than when I smoke these fully loaded $35,000+ Z71 Chevy Colorados on highway with my $25,000+ work truck because I got the V6 and they dont. The extended cab versions are good for fitting extra passengers in a pinch but your friends will thank you for getting the crew cab option especially if your friends are large. This truck was engineered almost perfectly. The interior is tough and durable. There are a lot of hard plastics inside (at least in my truck) but they do not lend themselves to a cheap feeling, rather more of a durable feeling. Everything inside the truck feels hard and durable with no delicate nobs or buttons which is a huge plus for me. Everything feels sturdy as it should. The cabins interior has a water resistant quality with rubber buttons and nobs that gives one the impression that the trucks electronics would be fine even if the inside got wet. The acceleration for the truck is quite quick but the automatic transmission is a little....lazy. It doesnt seem to want to kick the tranny into high gear unless you really put you foot through it. This truck is most at home cruising on the highway and it is not interested in beating other motorists off the line; even though it certainly can. This is partially a good thing because it encourages the aggressive driver to ease up a little and saves on MPG. The trick to going fast (and then some) with this truck is to shift into manual mode and down shift. Getting in and out of traffic with this truck is a breeze. This truck can tow with the best of them but it can also (dare I say it) weave in and out of traffic in ways that larger trucks wouldnt dare. Every 3.6L Chevy Colorado truck owner knows that they are own something very special. The small attention to detail is what makes this truck an outstanding choice for mid-sized truck buyers. This truck brings legitimacy to the mid-sized truck segment and has set the bar for what a Mid sized truck means. Midsized trucks will no longer be known as trucks whose sole purpose is to haul tools and ladders, they are now a serious option for truck drivers looking to do real work. Whats great about this truck is its versatility. It can be used to tow an RV, plow snow, climb a hill, haul cement, go on a date, and race another truck all in one day! The Chevy Colorado really can do it all. This truck also gives you a great deal of confidence when you ride it and when you use it. Its hard to feel Whether you want a truck for a daily commuter or to do serous work this truck is really the best of both worlds.

I love my truck - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By allan - March 12 - 7:16 pmHad my calorado for 2 months now. Excellent little truck with plenty of power. Rides a little stiff. Sharp looking ride though. Interior is cheap looking, but otherwise an all around nice truck. No regrets, yet!! Try one, I think you,ll like it!

Need a Truck and an SUV? Here it is! - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By Mike - March 10 - 4:13 pmGood space inside. Great ride quality, very quiet. I dont know why most "professional" reviewers dont like the seats. The upgraded leather package seat are fantastic! Some inside features could use redesign, but mostly they are the "little things" The cupholders are horrible, useless! Cruise control arm is confusing. No footrest/deadpedal on drivers side gets annoying on longer drives. Too much gray plastic in general. The door panels are rough, and the armrest is uncomfortable. Great stereo. Go for the XM. Awesome looks, and very solid fuel economy. Great backseat utility in the crew cab model. Ive had four buddies in the truck 6ft+ in the backseat 3 wide and its fine for local drives.

By jim331656 - January 18 - 2:00 amThis is a great truck. The I-5 has plenty of power and does good on gas. The truck looks very cool too. The interior is done alittle cheap in my opinion a little plasticy, but other than that its a great looking fun to drive truck.
