Overview & Reviews
The Chevrolet Colorado is Chevy's entry in the highly competitive compact truck segment. Like its rivals, the Colorado is closer to midsize than truly compact. Accordingly, it offers a reasonable amount of hauling capability without the added cost and bulk of a full-size pickup. As is customary in this segment, Chevrolet offers extended-cab and four-door crew-cab layouts, multiple bed lengths and available off-road preparation.
Older versions of the Chevy Colorado could be worth a look if you need a basic work truck, but their four- and five-cylinder engines are weak for this class (though you may find a few examples with a robust optional V8 engine). Colorados from 2015 and later are dramatically better, with competitive powertrains, up-to-date technology features and a spacious interior.

Richs Colorado - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By Richard Hess - October 14 - 1:23 amI really love this truck! It handles like a sports car, and rides smooth. Nice and peppy. But economical for a truck! Also, it has a real nice look to it.

Colorado is Fun - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By B Trombey - October 8 - 10:23 pmI enjoy driving this vehicle. It has a nice smooth ride that is greatly improved over the S10. It handles very well, the gas mileage needs to be improved a little bit, but its not terrible. It is consistent. Drove it from Michigan to California with no problems whatsoever, has more than enough power for going up hills. The suspension is much better on the Colorado than on the S10, the biggest improvement, I think.

2005 Chevy Colorado 4x4 Z71Crew Cab - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By steppen_out - October 1 - 4:59 amLove this truck. It is fun to drive, has great power and it makes a great tow!! It is easy to hitch and unhitch behind our RV better than the Saturn that we use to tow. Love the ride. It rides more like a car than a truck. Love the heated leather seats with lumbar support.

Great truck - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By carla cox - September 27 - 1:22 pmI like it that its big enough to haul something, yet small. I owned an S-10, and this is by far more comfortable and more room. It looks great and sporty if I say so myself. People stop me at red lights and comment on the color "Sunburst ORANGE", even the older people. I love this truck.

My first new truck - 2004 Chevrolet Colorado
By Joe - September 22 - 1:31 amI have put about 10000 on this truck already and and have had only one major issue. The inner treads on my front tires are wearing very fast. I brought it back to the dealership who agreed that the truck was out of alignment and proceeded to align the truck. The problem did not stop.My tires are continuing to wear ABNORMALLY fast on the inner treads in the front of the vehicle. The dealer stated that because the truck was within "factory specs" for alignment that my problem was "normal wear and tear". Ive had a second and third opinion on this issue and have concluded that the local Chevy dealer is wrong. So I am now in the process of dealing with Chevy corporate about the problem.

Dont read the Professionals - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By Nolan - September 15 - 11:35 amDont read the professional reviewers articles about this truck. They said the power of the 5cyl was only adequate. So on the test drive I gave it a little extra gas. It squealed the rear tires out of the dealership! I takes off faster than my old F150 with a V8. Tons of room inside make you feel like you are in a much bigger truck. The Z71 suspension rides great. Its not harsh at all. After more than 15 years of Fords I have switched.

Rippen Fun - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By Mike - September 13 - 9:17 pmThe 3500 5cyl. Vortec engine in my extended cab kept right up on a Camaro SS. This truck has very great power and unreal gas mileage to go with it. Only two things I dont absolutly love about the truck is no reclining seats and wheels come too small stock. Overall you cant beat the price. Its the best deal on a midsize truck and it will smoke any other midsize truck. You cant go wrong with this one.

Peterview - 2006 Chevrolet Colorado
By petejr - September 11 - 1:37 pmThis vehicle is a perfect fit for parking and driving in NYC. There is plenty of room inside and also my vehicle came with a cover over the bed which keeps out rain and any harsh weather. The black color is eye catching and an attention grabber.
