Overview & Reviews
The Chevrolet Colorado is Chevy's entry in the highly competitive compact truck segment. Like its rivals, the Colorado is closer to midsize than truly compact. Accordingly, it offers a reasonable amount of hauling capability without the added cost and bulk of a full-size pickup. As is customary in this segment, Chevrolet offers extended-cab and four-door crew-cab layouts, multiple bed lengths and available off-road preparation.
Older versions of the Chevy Colorado could be worth a look if you need a basic work truck, but their four- and five-cylinder engines are weak for this class (though you may find a few examples with a robust optional V8 engine). Colorados from 2015 and later are dramatically better, with competitive powertrains, up-to-date technology features and a spacious interior.

I like it...but. - 2006 Chevrolet Colorado
By USMC_love1122 - April 7 - 3:15 pmOkay so it runs great and it looks good but the traction stinks! I had a toyota 4-runner before this and it had better traction than this. My ABS fault comes on constantly which worries me a bit and my airbag light comes on freaquently too. When I bought it the rear transmission seal was broke but was fixed and covered by warrenty. Other than that I love it. Its just too light. I drive from MCB Quantico to Silver Spring every day and back for work and it gets pretty good gas mileage. Oh and my middle console squeaks a lot. Its quite annoying.

Colorado better than it looks but - 2004 Chevrolet Colorado
By Matt Risk - April 6 - 1:50 amThree months after I bought it iIwas in a wreck, saved my life, but since then the power windows motor has gone out in both windows, one after the other. The interior is bigger than it looks in regular cab. Runs great considering I drive it about 70 miles a day, could use better gas mileage though.

Just the right size - 2006 Chevrolet Colorado
By metalbabbleDotcom - April 5 - 10:37 amI imagine most people come on these sites to complain about problems but not many people take the time to praise a dependable vehicle. The Colorado has been great, I drive 20k a year and its well past its warrenty period without a peep of trouble.

05 Colorado 2.8L Crew Cab LS - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By Phase700B - April 5 - 9:25 amWe purchased this Colorado as a Chevy program vehicle from the dealer. It had a great option package, is a crew cab LS and has both OnStar and XM radio. The clincher was the Granite Blue color which makes the truck look upscale. It hauls my 1500lb boat trailer & also a small utility trailer with no trouble. Its not a rocket, but very surprising in what it can do for a 4cyl. Around town we get 17-19mpg and hwy 24-26mpg. Lower numbers are for winter driving, higher reflect wind or hwy speed. I drive 65-70 hwy. Love that it came with power windows/locks, AC, OnStar, 6CD/XM Radio, locking differential, and traction ctrl. 06 and later can not get these last 2 options on 4cyl crew cab LS.

Good little truck - 2004 Chevrolet Colorado
By J B - April 3 - 12:22 pmI have owned this vehicle for right at a year now. I purchased it used with 43000 miles on it. I know I paid too much for it but I have no one to blame for that but myself. The vehicle has suprising pep and power for a 5 cyl engine. Im not completely impressed with MPG as I get anywhere from 17-21 depending on the style of driving Im doing. I bought the small truck in hopes of better. The truck will absolutely tow a lot more than GM rates it for. Just towed an 8000 lb tractor home after a breakdown. Its definitely worth a look. GM needs to get more advertising out on this vehicle instead of letting it die like Im hearing they are doing.

Great Truck Good Performance - 2008 Chevrolet Colorado
By ShadowKyo - April 1 - 11:42 pmI got the Chevy Colorado because I was tired of driving small cars. I am glad I did, I enjoy the fact that I am higher off the ground great visibility. Interior is top notch compared to some of the other trucks I looked at, very modern. Has the looks of a bigger Silverado without the pain at the pump. Also the automatic is smooth and after driving nothing but manuals for the last few years, its nice to not be jerked around. Only complaints I have are the keyless entry doesnt work aall the time the first time and the engine fan is incredibly loud when its engaged.

Great truck - 2006 Chevrolet Colorado
By Tom - March 30 - 5:15 pmJust a touch underpowered but good fuel mileage and comfortable ride is worth it. 24 mpg on the highway. When going on the beach, wouldnt want any other truck. I have pulled every other model out. More F150s than any other. Even had some refuse help cause they drove a Ford. O well, I just drove on by.

Works fine for me - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By Bradley Boersema - March 28 - 6:21 pmI have owned my pickup for 2 years now, and I have only had to take it in once for a fuel sensor. Other than that I have had no problems with it. Its a great little commuter and play truck. I have even added several of my own feaures that was so easy to instal on this particular model (C B radio and anntennas, touch screen DVD/radio, side running lights, cold air intake). I love this truck and so does every one else in the neighborhood.

Better than youd expect - 2006 Chevrolet Colorado
By Hal - March 24 - 5:41 pmBody & engine tight and smooth, interior trim a little rough(headliner doesnt fit shugly). Seat-belt receptacle cover breaks easily). Five speed shifts out smoothly for 1-5,but often resists going into reverse. Impressive acceleration for a 4- cylinder. Decent gas mileage averaging about 22 with a 50/50 mix of city & highway going all-out...26 highway if I nurse it. Only maintenance in 48,000 miles has been oil, filters, & tires.

2005 Chevy Colorado Z71 Ext. Cab - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By Dave - March 10 - 1:48 pmDriving the vehicle on a day to day basis the gas mileage averages around 18 mpg. Lacking power in some conditions and interior is cheap. The vehicle has some excess noise as well inside. Overall though the vehicle is better than the majority of the competetion. I am 35 years old and this is my 48th vehicle. I have had Porsches, Mercs, and all sorts of SUVs, trucks. This one is just fine and the competion is lacking in space, comfort, and overall fit and finish, especially on their exteriors.
