Overview & Reviews
The Chevrolet Colorado is Chevy's entry in the highly competitive compact truck segment. Like its rivals, the Colorado is closer to midsize than truly compact. Accordingly, it offers a reasonable amount of hauling capability without the added cost and bulk of a full-size pickup. As is customary in this segment, Chevrolet offers extended-cab and four-door crew-cab layouts, multiple bed lengths and available off-road preparation.
Older versions of the Chevy Colorado could be worth a look if you need a basic work truck, but their four- and five-cylinder engines are weak for this class (though you may find a few examples with a robust optional V8 engine). Colorados from 2015 and later are dramatically better, with competitive powertrains, up-to-date technology features and a spacious interior.

I like it so far. - 2008 Chevrolet Colorado
By t21969 - June 16 - 6:46 pmIt is large and comfortable enough for my wife, three kids and I, and I am 64" 280lbs. My Suzuki DR 400 fits in the bed fine with the tailgate down. It has a smooth ride and handles the Texas Panhandle roads well. We have not owned it long enough to get a real test on mileage but I like what I have seen so far.

The Lucky One - 2004 Chevrolet Colorado
By Luckygirl - June 16 - 4:24 pmI own a 2004 Colorado extented cab ZQ8. I love my truck. The only problem Im having is the AC works good on 4 but on 1,2,3 dont hold your breath. I have 62,000 miles and I still get around 24 - 27 mpg. This truck has the get up and go. I turn heads and when Im on the freeway people move out of my way. Im not sure if its the yellow that makes them move or if they are letting me by just to get a glance of the beauty

Very Pleased - 2008 Chevrolet Colorado
By Colorado76 - June 15 - 7:34 pmI purchased a 2008 Colorado 2wd regular cab 4 cyl. 5 speed about two months ago. It is Victory Red with fog lights, aluminum wheels, and monochromatic front and rear bumpers. So far, I am very pleased with this truck. The 4 cyl 5 speed combo is fun to drive and has plenty of power even with the a/c on. I am getting 26-27 mpg on the highway and about 21 in the city. Also, the 4 cyl. is fairly quiet and idles smoothly compared to other 4 cyl. engines I have owned or have ridden in. After nearly 2,000 miles, the only changes I would make are: a little more lumbar support in the seats with reclining seatbacks on the models with the LS trim. As far as ride, its much quieter than my 04 Silverado

9 months in Colorado in North Carolina - 2007 Chevrolet Colorado
By Dale - June 10 - 3:11 pmI now have owned the truck for 9 months and have almost 11,000 miles on it. I am still very pleased with this economical, reliable everyday truck. Im still getting 19-20 mpg in everyday driving (even when running the a/c), with 26-27 mpg on trips (at 70-75 mph, no less). The only repairs it has needed in 11,000 miles are a new drivers seat cushion (to fix loose upholstery) and a new HVAC control head (to fix a temperature knob that wouldnt go all the way). Other than those two minor things, its been completely reliable. Im a very satisfied owner, and I wouldnt hesitate to recommend the truck based on my own experience.

Best new truck around. - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By Chevydriver - June 6 - 10:56 pmI have the Z85 LS 2wd Crew Cab with the I5 3.5L engine and auto tran. This truck replaced a 97 S-10 LS Ext. Cab. Although the truck is really new, I dont see any outstanding complaints. It is very fuctional and most of all, fun to drive. The features you get these days on GM trucks is impressive for the price. I did my comparison homework and found that with all the rebates from GM and low MSRP, the Colorado is the best value in its class. Althoug the Crew Cab shortens the bed to 5, it does not look carlike compared to a Ford Sport-trac. With the additon of the towing package you have room for 5 people, the gear in the bed and a smaller "toy" to haul to the lake or woods!

I like the truck - 2008 Chevrolet Colorado
By Ed - June 6 - 9:20 pmI bought this truck new in 11/07 and traded in my Toyota 2004 Tacoma. This is my first American truck and I am pleased. I have over 16000 miles and it rides great. It holds the road and drives like a car. I had no trouble pulling my 6000lb skid loader out of the mud and towing large chippers.

This truck is a winner - 2004 Chevrolet Colorado
By allan - June 2 - 4:26 pmListen carefully- I want to get the word out- this truck is awesome! I bought a like new 2004 2.8l 5 speed. It has 75,000 miles and drives like a champ- this is proof this truck has good quality. I use it to haul my motorcyles and pick up materials for my weekend projects. Its comfy, the stick shift has great position and feel to it and it shifts smoothly! This little engine is great on gas and once you get moving it hums. Great stereo. Fun to drive!
