Overview & Reviews
The Chevrolet Colorado is Chevy's entry in the highly competitive compact truck segment. Like its rivals, the Colorado is closer to midsize than truly compact. Accordingly, it offers a reasonable amount of hauling capability without the added cost and bulk of a full-size pickup. As is customary in this segment, Chevrolet offers extended-cab and four-door crew-cab layouts, multiple bed lengths and available off-road preparation.
Older versions of the Chevy Colorado could be worth a look if you need a basic work truck, but their four- and five-cylinder engines are weak for this class (though you may find a few examples with a robust optional V8 engine). Colorados from 2015 and later are dramatically better, with competitive powertrains, up-to-date technology features and a spacious interior.

GM fails again! - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By dhectorg - July 29 - 11:50 amI grew up in a GM household and as an adult, I too only drove GM cars for years. Then I decided to try a Honda to see what all the fuss was about. I was so shocked by the superior quality and reliability that I never went back to American...until now. I needed a work truck and something to drive on camping trips. I honestly only bought the Colorado because it was so much cheaper than a comparable used Tacoma or Frontier. After 6 months of driving this truck, Ive decided to sell it and look for a Toyota or Nissan. Ive had to repair the transfer case, replace the clutch, replace relays, replace windshield weather seal, etc. Im going back to Japanese. I know I can count on their quality!

Good Truck - 2007 Chevrolet Colorado
By bob - July 28 - 7:22 pmIve done 13500 miles in this truck since new without any problems. It runs really free and has high gearing. The ride is smooth and handling and brakes are great. I can get 26 mpg if I drive easy. Id recommend it!

Above average Below expensive - 2008 Chevrolet Colorado
By t - July 28 - 3:36 pmI enjoy driving the vehicle notwithdstanding the lack of features, cheap emergency brake release (which comes off), the fact that none of the seats adjust, or that my starter is already experiencing turn over problems. I had to take it in to have the squirrel cage on the a/c replaced, (original one squealed when on), but the fuel economy is good for a truck, and it is very fun to drive Sporty in one word. Definetly for a younger driver looking to save on insurance and gas, but doesnt mind working out the bugs with the dealership. OnStar is great as well. An all around good buy. Delivers power when demanded. I would have enjoyed a more rugged interior and at least an adjustable driver seat.

Security Advisor - 2007 Chevrolet Colorado
By george - July 28 - 1:30 pmWe purchased this vehicle to replace one of our Security fleet Chevy Cavaliers. Vehicle has excellent acceleration, comfort for driving and setting in. Fuel mileage is near 30 MPG in city & hwy driving combo. Have used to pull a loaded 8 trailer & didnt notice any changes except fuel mileage dropped to 24 MPG.on the hwy. As a security vehicle we have engaged in high speed chases with many different vehicles. The Colorado hasnt been out-run yet or out-performed.

Get one! - 2008 Chevrolet Colorado
By okieradio - July 28 - 9:10 amGot my 2008 Colorado last September. Driven 12000 miles. Gas mileage runs 20- 22 in town. Roomy cab, and back seat leg room is adequate for its size. Why the Colorado and not the Silverado? I dont pull anything, and only haul lighter cargo- plus I like the extra room in my garage. I do haul my scooter, and Ive carried a bed full of pavers plus three adults with the A/C on and the little 4-cyl powered us right down the road. Engine torques up real quick. Passing on the highway winds it up a little more than I like, but it gets moving right away.

05 Colorado - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By Jim - July 21 - 7:13 pmBasically I like the truck. I havent had any problems and the truck seems to be a reliable vehicle. It seems tight with no rattles or noises. The seat material is prone to soiling for the workman and a different material is needed. It has enough pick up for me, however the gas mileage is a disappointment for a 2005 vehicle. (14/15 city 20 on the road)It does have the 410 rear

Gas hog - 2004 Chevrolet Colorado
By loser - July 20 - 7:35 pmI purchased this truck used in 2006. After just a few hundred miles I saw I was in trouble. Running interstate speed, the truck would quiver so bad you were unable to see ot the rearview mirror. It had pleanty of power, but really loved the gas. With gas prices over $4, it had to go.

So far so good - 2007 Chevrolet Colorado
By Joe - July 14 - 10:13 pmI started driving this truck in 2/08, it is my company vehicle. It has as much leg room as my 07 Tundra Double Cab and rides just as good. It did way better in WI winter conditions than I expected. I regularly get 25 mpg on the highway with an aluminum cap and 300 - 500 lbs of tools and stuff in the back. It doesnt have many options, but it hasnt had a single mechanical flaw. I put 100 - 220 miles on it daily and I find the seat in my cheapee model comfortable. Seems to be a little more cabin noise than I would like, but it is so much more comfortable and roomy than S-10s. This is a standard cab with the 4 banger. People flash their brights at me a lot at night when mine arent on

2005 that has given me no problems - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By Debis - July 14 - 9:31 pmMy daughter and I fell in love with the Colorado crew cab on first sight and I have not been disappointed. We drove it home the same day we laid eyes on it. Did the recall on the brake lights and dealt with the ac switch but I have had no other problems. It is a perfect size for me and my big yellow dog that thinks the truck belongs to him. Gas mileage is much better when I pay attention to my speed.
