My last V8 - 2000 Chevrolet Camaro
By Kurt - September 26 - 7:02 pmI purchased this car from the dealer using my mother-in-laws employee discount. I ordered it in September, 1999 and it was delivered on Jan 1, 2000. The brakes warped right away and Chevy resurfaced them no charge - more than once. Several months ago I decided to keep the car and installed Baer Eradispeed disks front and rear with Hawk pads and a new set of Goodyear F1 GS D3s and the car is now perfected. It goes like stink and stops exceedingly well. Now that gas is $3/Ga I think this will be my last V8, but it has been fun. Used ones are cheap now and mine has been bulletproof. I would recommend one to anyone who wants something like this.

Get One While You Can Find Them - 2000 Chevrolet Camaro
By Carguy - July 8 - 4:26 amI bought this car used in 2004 with 11,000 miles on it. Went from New Orleans to Grand Ledge, Michigan to get it sight unseen. Turned out to be worth the trip. My first ride was the 1000+ mile trip back home with the car in which it performed flawlessly, even in the tropical storm, (no roof leaks) at my return to Louisiana. Fuel efficiency was unbelievable on this trip considering the power. This car has remarkable power, but is a mild mannered city cruiser with a better than average ride when your foot is not heavy on the gas. Exterior styling is excellent with the black top on a black car and chrome 5 spoke wheels. Exhaust note is awesome when you get on the accelerator.

My 00 Z28 - 2000 Chevrolet Camaro
By Gregg1LE - May 17 - 1:24 amThis is my first LS1 car. I have owned both a V6 and an LT1 4th gen car. This is by far the best one in terms of looks, style, and performance.

Bang for your buck - 2000 Chevrolet Camaro
By demonspeed - April 4 - 12:52 pmThis is my 3rd Camaro. I bought the car used with 12k miles and I have put it through its paces. It is a daily driver that has seen a lot of track time. It has held up very well for the amount of abuse it has seen over the past 16k miles of ownership. With VERY minimal modifications, the car went from 13.6@106, to 13.1@110. I do not hesitate to take this car on any trips, nor fear the increasing gas prices and it sees close to 30mpg on the highway, and close 20mpg around town. For the price of these used LS1 cars, the performance/dollar ratio is top notch. With 303hp at the wheels STOCK, the car is really making more than its advertised 320hp (appx 350 crank - like a base Corvette).

Fun Car, but needs improvement - 2000 Chevrolet Camaro
By carnut17 - January 14 - 3:58 pmI had this car for about a year, and what a blast. This car was scary fast. However, when it came to twisty roads, my old 89 Mustang handled better than this beast. The car is too heavy and has too much body roll to handle well. As a daily driver, I cant recommend this car. The t-tops started leaking at 10,000 miles, and leaked even after the dealer replaced them. The interior rattles started right away, and got progressively louder and more numerous. Everything in the interior like it will snap off. I sold it before the whole thing fell apart when the warranty ran out. Seems like GM still believes in "planned obsolescence."

Excellent Automobile - 2000 Chevrolet Camaro
By ssmith451 - October 1 - 2:00 amI feel this is a great car. Then only issue now is the trade in/resale value since the stop of production.

Always Something - 2000 Chevrolet Camaro
By SubCoolEnt - August 24 - 2:00 amI have had my car for a couple years now. And i am overall unimpressed. Over the course of time i have had maybe 1 week worth of reliable trouble free cruising. I am 60K now, and every accessory i own on this car has given me trouble. Even the window washer projector is broke. Granted, Mechanically the engine is sound, except for the lousy brakes. But rewiring the entire interior because of some lame-broke loser thinks he should get paid more money for his job and that i should feel the wrath of his stupidity is aggrivating (can u tell?). My milage is close to 10mpg from its original 24, and i cant fix it. The V8 gets better milage. Never domestic again!

Great exterior, Crap interior.. - 2000 Chevrolet Camaro
By Pewter Camaro - August 19 - 2:00 amVery fun to drive, finally i can race cars on the road and actually win :). Wish i could afford insurance on a Z or an SS.. but with a few mods on my 3800 Series 2,and some exterior mods, I think i can turn her into an SS. But first i have to basically replace everything on the drivers side door!!!!

Green Ride - 2000 Chevrolet Camaro
By Brand x - June 18 - 2:00 amThe car has been much more dependable then my Mercury Cougar, although the alternator went out in the beginning. It drives very sloppy around curves but it gets decent gas mileage and its peppy
