This Year's Model Updates:

Chevrolet dumps a 305-horsepower version of the Corvette's V8 engine under a new front end, adds standard four-wheel disc brakes on all models, adds a couple of new colors, makes second-generation airbags standard and revises trim levels. The midyear SS package makes 320 horsepower.

Pros:
  • Great acceleration and looks for a low price.
Cons:
  • Cave-like interior with top up. Outward visibility with top up. Cheap interior plastics.

The vehicle is very enjoyable to especially when you have the T-top model like my self.If they go back to making the camaro I hope Chevy works more on the interior and try to get an engine sold off the lot that runs on regular gas

The Chevy Camaro is a great fun car to drive. I get lots of stares from the young kids in the street. Its a small town so everyone knows when Im driving by, which I enjoy. No major problems to speak of.

If you want a car that will be faster than most porsches, run with many supercars, brake in the same distance as a race prepped porsche gt3 (famous for brakes), but are on a budget, this is the car. Do some some basic mods to unleash this cars true potential. And by the way, a Z28 has the same engine as a Corvette (exact same), and Z28s will dyno at least as much hp as a C5, if not more. The engine was seirously underrated, so dont beleive the stats. Throw on some mods, and youll be showing up vipers, corvettes, porsches, other german supercars, and possibly even a ferrari 360, or lambo gallardo. Handling could be better though.

I only had the car for 30 days, but the performance is awesome! Handling is much better than stock Z-28. SSs have variable springs, so initial suspension hits are absorbed nicely. The jaring kidney shots are not there unless your driving in Metro Detroit. Worth the extra bucks. For 25k will absolutely destroy mustangs from base GT (19k) to Cobra (32k)!

The Z28 has plenty of hp and accelerates very well. It is a great drive once youre up and away you can cruise comfortably and with confidence at high speed. Only problem for a lot of folks is getting in and out of the car since seats are so low and doors are very long. Overall great value for a muscle car and reasonable maintenance.

Bought this car new with 11 miles, now I have 63,000. I still love it. The only problem is the cassette player doesnt work (so what). I still get complements on it, Gas mileage is pretty good for a car with this performance. Its just as comfortable on the road as my friends Corolla or my girlfriends Accord. Why this car was discontinued and replaced with the SSR is beyond me. Ive been shopping for a new car, but nothing tops my SS, so I keep my money

This vehicle is deffinetly a highway car. Rides superb and has ample horse power for a nice sunday drive.

  • Super Z - 1998 Chevrolet Camaro

My Z has been the best car I have ever driven. It is so easy to squeeze dozens of horse power out of it for the minimal amount of money. And if your good with a Jigg-saw you can do half of the mods for free. To be able to get 400 hp from a stock motor with out having to spend more than $700 then thats the car you want.
