A standard-wheelbase version of the A8 is introduced this year for those who don't need all the size of the A8 L, along with a tire-pressure monitor, rain-sensing wipers and LED lighting for the door handles and mirror controls. New optional equipment includes a keyless entry and start system, a wood steering wheel and shift knob, satellite radio and power door closers for the front and rear side doors. Horsepower has been bumped up to 335 (from 330). A 6.0-liter W12 power plant, which provides 450 hp, 428 lb-ft of torque, has also been added.

  Ive had Porsches, Mercedes-Benzes and BMWs. Look no further than the 2005 Audi A8 for the best value for the money. It has great handling, 4 wheel drive, and great comfort. This car beats them all hands down.

  This is the best car I have ever driven for its type, having traded a Porsche 996 and Mercedes C320 for the Audi. Its a joy to drive and on long journeys its interior space and just plain comfort cant be beat

  Never Again - 2005 Audi A8

  Thought I would get away from BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar this time out. Worse mistake Ive ever made. Most items are terrific but this vehicle suffers from an inherent problem that Audi admits there is no fix for. It jerks forward from a stop on the slightest application of the accelerator. Get whiplash eveytime I leave a stop sign. They are all the same but owners will not admit it after spending this much. Takes 35 seconds to switch from FM to AM. No rear coat hanger. Interior light button tiny and buried among 6 other similar buttons on ceiling. Nav system poorly designed. Car has no sex appeal. I just bought wife new STS and aside from putting A8 to shame on all fronts, it gets WOWS everywhere.

  The 2005 Audi A8 is silent, smooth, powerful, smart and handsome. OK, enough about me..:-) What a car! I just let my 2000 740iL go and got an 05 A8L. The 7-Series was a great car, but the A8 is even better. I cannot think of one thing I dont like about the car. Being able to change suspensions and shift points makes it like having two or three cars all with the best interior in the world. Get one!

  My Third Audi - 2005 Audi A8

  My 05 A8 is my third Audi. MY 2001 A8L runs with such zip and jetlike take off that it it is without a doubt a magnificent vehicle. I prefer the A8 to the BMWs because of the luxury feel that you get with, combined with the great speed. A few things to improve on include the cup holders and CD location but overall this is a great car. So I bought a new 2005 A8L this August and it it blows away all the other top luxury cars That Ive road tested. Its handling on wet pavement is all you can expect from any car that still rides on the ground.

  My 2005 Audi A8L drives like a dream. It is a substantial upgrade from my old Lexus in terms of its driving characteristics. The MMI was easy to use. I have nothing but good things to say about the car.

  The car is amazing and I got about $8k off plus $750 for the Audi Family Discount plus one free payment of $940.03 because I went to an touring US Audi event. I sold another four while I was there of the A8Ls and A6s. Incredible discount and price - cant beat this car for the money - and I have had over 10 5/7 series BMWs, the previous V8 in 1990 and later a mid-1990s A8 and several M cars from BMW and a S430 from Mercedes fully loaded with a refrigerator.

  This car is fantastic! Fast and fun to drive. The MMI is so much easier to use than BMWs. My favorite part of the test drive was going to a wet, empty parking lot and lowering the suspension to Dynamic and then letting this car work its magic!

  This is absolutly the best car ever on the market. My wife does not get to touch it. It is fast, responsive, and its design is the standard lost by BMW and Mercedes-Benz. It is the new gold standard, miles ahead of everything out there. It has great power and lines. Just buy one, and you will feel that youve finally gotten what you paid for and then some. Its architecture is stellar...do it.
