Overview & Reviews
Audi's entry-level sedan and wagon are all new for 2002. Along with a redesigned body structure and new sheet metal, the new A4 receives a variety of changes to make it sportier. It is motivated by either a 170-horsepower 1.8-liter turbocharged four or a completely new 3.0-liter 220-horsepower V6, which can be mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Making its debut this year for non-quattro models is a continuously variable transmission (CVT), also known as multitronic. An in-dash six-disc CD changer and a dual-zone auto climate control top the standard features list.

Good, but could be better - 2002 Audi A4
By CJJK - November 10 - 10:00 amThe 1.8T in the quattro, automatic is lethargic. Audi really needs to boost up the HP to make it a pleasing ride. The car is solid and handles great, but just too darn slow,,push the gas and it doesnt want to move!!!! Driver needs mopre leg room , its too cramped and I am of average height and weight.

Nothing but good things to say - 2002 Audi A4
By Greg Mason - November 4 - 10:00 amI finally stumbled upon the new A4 and fell in love at once. I have always liked the styling, but Audi has been weak in performance and I almost didnt even give the car a second look. The increased horsepower has made this car a dream to drive. The interior is meticulous German engineering and provides an environment that is comfortable and refined, yet not overdone. The AWD capabilities make this a perfect all around automobile. I have been nothing but pleased with the car over the past 8 months.

Great Performance, Outstanding Design - 2002 Audi A4
By LeonardPA - October 22 - 2:00 amIve had my A4 3.0 Quattro 6 speed for almost 2 months and I love the car. The only option I got is the sports package but the car comes loaded stock. I love the A4s handling, the Quattro shines when the roads are wet. The power is well suited to the car, not the fastest in its class but it achieves a very good balance. My last car was a Miata, the A4 has much of the sports car feel but with the back seat and all of the comfort items you would expect from a German luxury model. And the A4 is gorgeous inside and out.

A fun yet practical drive - 2002 Audi A4
By wantsmalcar - September 29 - 10:00 amThis car has been an excellent purchase for me. I was looking at Jettas and others of that ilk, but his car is obviously head and shoulders over those. After driving the BMW 325xi for some time, I have to say I like the A4 more! The manageability and infrequency of repairs and even scheduled maintenance make this car a no-brainer decision if youre looking at this price level or even moderately below (because the total cost to own is small).

Why would anyone buy a BMW? - 2002 Audi A4
By Roughgem - September 29 - 10:00 amLooked at the BMW 3-series and BMW 5- series, and then ... with some skepticism ... visited the Audi dealer. WOW! The interior is so far superior to anything the BMW 3 offers both in terms of build quality and space, and to get a comparable BMW 5 would cost at least $10,000 more! The interior is plush, sleek, and oozes luxury. Loved the drive with the 6- speed right from the get-go - zippy and responsive. The extras and the bells and whistles on this car made me think of a Bond vehicle - more toys than you can imagine, and thats standard! I LOVE THIS CAR, its everything I could have asked for in a European luxury sports sedan, and more ... dont forget the AWD!

My 1.8T Quattro Review - 2002 Audi A4
By MikeW - September 22 - 10:00 amThe car has awesome handling, looks great, and superb build quality. You get a lot more for your money with the A4 compared to the BMW 3 series. Before test driving I was actually leaning toward a 3 series, but all it took was a test drive and seeing the A4 next to the Bimmer to sway me toward the Audi. Actually after the test drive, I didnt even consider the BMW again.

Our Very First... - 2002 Audi A4
By Coopus - August 16 - 10:00 amToday is the 2nd-week (900 miles) anniversary of our first Audi - the A4 3.0 Avant. What a great car. My husband and I love everything about the A4. I love the styling and the dual temperture control, and my husband loves the power and handling (he autocrosses regular in his 914). Comparing to all our previous cars, 3 series, E-class, and Discovery, this is the funnest car to own and to drive.
