- Torque-laden turbo four is a hoot to rev hard. Comfortable interior, great handling, stellar design, optional all-wheel drive and optional Tiptronic automanual transmission are pluses.

wonderful car - 1999 Audi A4

I dont think I could have swallowed the price of a new one, but the 3 year(at that time-now its 4) complete warranty was reassuring. Its a blast to drive. The quattro is mandatory in the snow belt. I put 4 Michelin snows on in the winter, and go anywhere without worry.

I have been on road trips from Quebec City to New York, New England to Texas and Texas to Colorado. It excells in the snow (with proper tires), handles very well (sport suspension) and is a very good highway cruiser (despite the high rpms in 5th).

By jareda80 - March 14 - 2:00 amI recently purchased my 99 1/2 2.8 Quattro 5 spd. and love it (1,000 miles in just over a week). I drove a 1.8T and my 6 cylinder is much smoother and much quieter. I also recommend the 5 spd. if you enjoy really driving your car. The tiptronic seems sloppy on upshifts and just doesnt have hands on feel of the manual. The quattro glues the car to the road no matter the conditions, a must here in Utah. I traded in a 98 Mercedes C280 Sport and my Audi not only outperforms the MB its interior is also more luxurious in my opinion.

Quality, Fun, Look - 1999 Audi A4
By DavidVB - February 14 - 2:00 am...this car has it all. I recommend the 1.8T over the 2.8, b/c the turbo engine is fabulous and its also lighter (4 vs 6 cyl) which provides the car with an outstanding weight balance.

By Steve D73 - February 9 - 2:00 amThere are a few minor things that could be done to make this car the best small sedan on the road. It is unbeatable for the price. I love the A4 and havent seen any car that is a better value. The cars interior looks and feels like cars of twice the price, it is excellent other than the rear seat room.
