- Torque-laden turbo four is a hoot to rev hard. Comfortable interior, great handling, stellar design, optional all-wheel drive and optional Tiptronic automanual transmission are pluses.

By GKR - August 21 - 2:00 amI just purchased this car it only has 38,000 miles on it and I love driving it. Style,comfort,handling is great. I owned prior to this a 1993 Mercedes 190E and this auto does not compare! Only thing I would have liked in the Audi is a CD player it comes with a cassette AM/FM radio, other than that car is GREAT!!!

One trip from Denver to Utah and several trips into the mountains have been extremely enjoyable. This car is at home with high speeds. I have the 5- speed, but test drove the tiptronic 2.8 and the new 1.8T 5-speed. The 2.8 5- speed had the best acceleration and sense of control to reach optimum torque on uphill climbs. Im looking forward to see how quattro does in the snow, which is a main reason I purchased the car.

Performance at an affordable price - 1999 Audi A4
By Go Red Sox - July 27 - 2:00 amMade a good decision to purchase this used 2.8Q instead of the 1.8Q. The performance is smoother and more powerful. It is a fun car to drive with it makes my heart flutter. My wife and I drove to niagara falls from Mass. this past february and came back during a blizzard. I saw 18 vehicles that slid off the highway or were flipped over (5 cars). This car provided me with a lot of road gripping reassurance. I was sold on the quattro system. Ive had it for 6 months and the fuel guage just failed. I think it will cost about $500 to fix. Ive been very happy with this vehicle.

Huge Disappointment - 1999 Audi A4

Transmission replaced before 1K miles, windshield cracked (sitting in a garage), air conditioning controls failed, instrument cluster unit failed, windshield washer pump, transmission again, squeaks & rattles that cant be fixed.......

Only buy if a factory certified car... - 1999 Audi A4
By Glock88 - June 15 - 2:00 amBought used as a factory certified car, 2yr/100k warranty. Unfortunately had to use the warranty several times. New turbo, new sunroof, a new rear speaker, new seals on awd axles, new mass air flow sensor. otherwise, a great car. My first German car, always had Japanese, not used to the niggling problems. It is quiet, great on the highway, the quattro is great can even notice in the rain turning corners. Only gets 21mpg around town (premium gas only). Love the way the car looks, get a lot of complements. Fast car for only having 150hp.

Love my A4 - 1999 Audi A4
By notfollowing - June 3 - 2:00 amI bought this car about a year ago and love it. The AWD is fantastic - I dont like to drive cars without it now. The 99.5 has a reconfigured front cabin with a conveniently placed cupholder - if you have a choice, go for the newer one.
