Overview & Reviews
A number of interior, exterior and mechanical updates were made for 2004. The V6 engine added slightly more power and is now rated at 265 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque. Outside, you'll find a restyled front fascia, new chrome trim, dual exhaust tips, a new wheel design for Touring models, updated headlights and taillights and a rear wing spoiler. The interior now features trendy brushed metal-look trim for the center stack, leather armrests, auto-on/off headlights, new ambient foot lighting and enhanced functionality of the second-row seat for third-row access. Touring models get a new version of the Bose premium audio system and power lumbar support for the driver seat. Finally, safety has been improved on all MDXs with the addition of side curtain airbags and a tire-pressure monitoring system.
- Room for seven passengers or serious amounts of cargo, gutsy V6 engine, well-balanced suspension, top-rated crash test scores, low price.
- Limited off-road capability, below-average tow rating, ho-hum interior design and materials.

Great Ride - 2004 Acura MDX
By bri32974 - November 22 - 10:00 amIve had the vehicle for about 3 weeks now. Love the ride. It just feels like your driving a nice vehicle when driving. All my family and friends love it. I did research for about 3 months. Test drove alot of different SUVs. The decision came down to either the MDX or Volkswagen Toureg. For the money, I thought the MDX beat it out. The history of reliability and resale is pretty good compared to some of the other competitors. Im averaging about 18 to 19 miles on the average. Definitely, get the side steps and luggage rack on the vehicle. That finishes off the look of the vehicle. It kind of looks naked without it.

Pretty nice Id say - 2004 Acura MDX
By AM4TA - November 17 - 4:51 pmMy mom just bought this car for herself a little while ago and it came with the GPS system which is the best feature out of all in my opinion, especially for the out of town trips. It drives pretty decent but will not make you bounce back in your seat. The drivers seat however needs to get fixed because the back of the seat isnt straight, its at an angle which causes my back to slide down toward the right side all the time and I cant position myself straight. Also the right exhaust pipe is hanging a little lower than the left one but that shouldnt be a problem. Other than that the car is pretty nice. Not a standout but not a car that people will hate either.

POOR GAS MILEAGE!!!!!! - 2004 Acura MDX
By FAFORBUSH - October 14 - 2:00 amGas mileage stinks. I am consistently getting only 13 miles to the gallon around town and 20 on a trip.. This is not what the window sticker says. Taking in for service but have been told probably nothing they can do. Was told at first well maybe it will get better as it gets broken in...What is wrong with this???? It is not like I have a lead foot or drive wrecklessly!!! I go so slow now to help the mileage that my kids comment on how slow I drive. I use the most expensive gas in this car and nothing is making a difference

Zees MDX - 2004 Acura MDX
By Abryzt - October 14 - 2:00 amThis SUV handles very well; steers very responsibly. I mightve enjoyed a bucket seat like the Acura TL, but altogether, the MDX indeed is a luxurious SUV.

Acura MDX - 2004 Acura MDX
By pakky - September 2 - 2:00 amI purchased this vehicle new just over a year ago. It is simply the best SUV I have ever driven. I would not hesitate to recommend its purchase to a friend or family member. My one and only criticism is:fake(plastic)wood.

By don - August 25 - 12:15 pmHave had a noise in rear wheel bearings or Whatever? since new nothing has happened just noisy. Dealer is great changed wheel bearing no charge twice. Once in peoria and last time in naperville. Its ok for a while then the noise is back. I probably will change to another SUV because of this noise. The Acura is excellant with this exception. don

I looked for safety and comfort - 2004 Acura MDX
By bengt - July 21 - 2:00 amSafety was the pime component as I shopped for a new SUV. The MDX has the safety features I was looking for. I was also looking for comfort, style and a navigation system. I looked at other brands, but the MDX was the one which met my needs. Other luxury brands in this size car didnt offer the third seat; they also had smaller cargo areas. The navigation system is a fantastic addition; the rear camera used when the car is in reverse, is also a great feature. I love the car!

I love my Acura MDX - 2004 Acura MDX
By Kadepp - July 21 - 2:00 amI LOVE MY CAR! I drive 1.5 hours to work and again back home -- at the end of the day I am disappointed when it is time to pull into the garage because the ride has been so great and I am not dog tired from sitting in the drivers seat until 7 pm.
