I have literally owned this car for about 6 hours and there is nothing more that I would like to do than drop a 6 speed and a twin turbo set up on it. This car is a beast. Very comfortable. The power goes to the correct wheels. Its got brakes. Its brilliant. I love it.

* This review is mainly intended for ex-police cruiser fans, Chevy Caprice lovers, Car restorer or Collector. The car is great however, after many years of trouble-free operation it started having some stall issues.
Trans Went - 1995 Chevrolet Caprice

Born 1995 Died 2011...not too bad considering the mileage was in the upper 100s. Biggest problem was electrical and tuneups, there were oil leaks but what killed it was actually the transmission gears went from trying to maneuver around in the snow up here. Not good in snow either btw, that wheel drive was not cut out for it.

I have owned my 96 Chevy Caprice for 3 years, I bought it with only 23,000 miles of it. As of right now it has 44,000 miles on it. The performance is great the ride is very smooth and comftontable. I have plans to own this car forever, and if someone have the opportunity to own one it would be a great buy. I drive it from FL to Miss every summer and it have been great to me on my road trips.

Dad bought our "91, new, traded in an excellent 82 Caprice that was great also. The vehicle NEVER gave any problems whatsoever Price was some $18k or so, still they command about $5,000 for a nice one on Autotrader, so Edmunds, get your pricing correct..

My caprice is one of a kind. If you keep up your maintenance it will never disappoint. Like the camaro I wish Chevrolet would start back making this car. Two of my friends have this car one a 94 and 95 and they think theyre great to. Just thank about bringing it back, it would be a big seller.
An American Classic - 1995 Chevrolet Caprice
By idonthave1 - April 4 - 10:04 am
I had a 93, liked it then I bought a 95 and I love it! I bought both cars from a city auction. Both are police cars, and the 95 is a 9C1 package. Its 2010 and I still think this 95 caprice looks sexy. It is fun to drive, and lots of power. Most of all, it is an American classic. It plays a huge part in our automobile culture.

Got ours, fulylded lther seat,4.3L,at 32K frm retd couple who got it new.Safe to say its never been abused.Hwy Mpg at 32K was 30.5 obsving spd lmts, cruise,& fully loaded. Its had only 1 tuneup.Last rd trip at 140K was 29.1 mpg.If mass is #1 factor in safety this size leads the way.Comfort? One revwer said it was like drving a livingroom dn the rd.Couldnt agree more.Yet it handles superbly in all conds. The 6way seat holds the drver in grt drving posture while he compltely escapes normal drving fatigue-all day!Dependable? Weve replaced only the water pump. All sched mntnance perfmed.Eng smokefree leaks 1qt in 3K (fixable).Still rustfree.Trade? No thx. The combo is just too good-what a ride!
