For the 2010 Volkswagen Jetta, there is a refreshed instrument panel and cabin trim, a new climate control system and a new radio. Most trims also see a new leather-wrapped, multifunction steering wheel and standard Bluetooth connectivity. An iPod connection becomes a separate option (you had to get the navigation system before) while the SportWagen loses its SEL trim level and the accompanying turbocharged engine. The sport-tuned GLI has been discontinued. Finally, there's a new Limited Edition trim and the TDI Cup "Street" Edition debuts with an extra helping of tuner flavor.

By Spidey - June 2 - 10:20 pmThe wife wanted to try something different this time, taking a detour from the domestic norm, and the Jetta sure didnt disappoint! Blue metallic graphite, 6-speed manual tranny, Sport and Protection package, 17" Goal wheels, and the Ipod media interface. Better gas mileage than previous car, $1300 tax credit... even the insurance was less! Whats not to like? When my Honda finally "gives up the ghost", I would love to have one of these, myself!

Practical and Fun - 2010 Volkswagen Jetta
By MIJetta - May 20 - 10:10 amThey had me at the heated seats and panoramic sunroof. With the roof all the way open and windows down, it feels like a convertible--without any of the hassle. Would have liked TDI mileage without the added expense, but have gone from 25 MPG new to 30 MPG overall at 8,000 miles. It is sporty yet spacious enough to seat 5 people, or a bicycle, with the rear seats folded down. The right-angle holders with Velcro bases for the matted cargo area -- very clever! They hold things in place and can be tailored to whatever you put there--not one size fits all. Many well-considered details make the car a pleasure to own.

By das_junk - April 30 - 2:49 pmMy 2010 VW Jetta TDI sportwagen was fine for the first 4 thousand miles then it has been nothing short of a nightmare. In 2.5 years this TDI has been in the shop over 80 days for check engine and service now (glow plug flashing) at this point the car just quits when it feels like it. Parts, parts and more parts has yet keep this VW on the road. Driving down the road no warning..Quits!, make a turn and hit a pothole..Quits! Trade-in value at VW dealers is 4 to 5 thousand dollars off bluebook because of the "issue" with this car. Customer care would only offer 1 thousand dollars and refused to swap for a same year and milage VW.Make things right..guess not. Hitlers dream is my nightmare

Nice car when its not in service dept - 2010 Volkswagen Jetta
By Dave - April 29 - 2:33 amIve had this car a month and its been in VW service for half of that time with three different episodes of having the check engine light on (oxygen sensor replaced, EGR gasket replaced, software update). I suspect they disconnected the check engine light after the last time... Ive also had the windshield cracked by a rock... When I can drive the car its been very good. The fuel economy is astounding - 40 mpg in mixed driving 47-50 on the highway. Interior is very nice with high quality materials and finish for this class of car. Touch screen stereo is nice. Large trunk. The car overall seems very solid and the handling is first rate. Bluetooth has been funky - after one call it shuts off.

By Steve - April 6 - 10:00 amWell, only a few weeks in my Jetta TDI, but so far I love it. With the manual 6-speed it is fun to drive, especially between 2d and 5th gear, but even in 6th at 70mph on the highway, there is plenty of "go" to move around in traffic. And my first three tanks of diesel I am AVERAGING 41.5 mpg (I drive about70/30 hwy/city). And with the seats down, yesterday I put my daughters bike in the trunk without taking any wheels off, so whats not to like.....

money pit - 2010 Volkswagen Jetta
By greg snodgrass - February 4 - 9:04 amI have had my car 5 years/100,000 miles. AC compressor went out last week=$1600. This week, the particulate filter/catalytic converter went out and that is going to cost $5100. At 120,000 miles, the timing belt will need to be replaced=$1200. The NADA on the car is $9000. I will never buy another VW.

By smallbej - January 16 - 3:26 amWe traded in our 2007 Passat wagon for this 2010 Jetta we are leasing because the MPG was better and ran on cheap, 87 octane for the 2.5 liter instead of the 2.0Ts recommended 92 Octane. Sadly, we have been averaging just over 19mpg with mixed city/highway driving. Huge disappointment. Interior is nice, plenty of trunk room. Love the heated seats. Have a smell from the washer fluid coming into the cabin despite all windows and sunroof closed. Only smells when you use the wiper/washer and VW doesnt know why. Im 6 ft and have kids in car seats in the rear, it leaves little room for the kids feet to dangle. some things to think about. I should have looked at more than just VWs.

Excited in St Louis - 2010 Volkswagen Jetta
By St Louis Boy - January 3 - 10:03 amI have been buying US branded cars since the first one. Ive had no discrimination against brands, Ford, Gm, Chrysler. All are good but none are making me as happy as this new Jetta TDI. It has great speed and pick-up with shifts that are unbelievably quick. Ive never had any transmission shift so fast and smooth. I was surprised when hitting 70mph there was another gear. The interior is solid and very up scale. Vinyl or not the seats feel like their from a luxury car. I havent had anyone even guess its a diesel. The interior is quieter than a Cadillac I once had. The body is smaller than the Dodge Charger we traded in on it but there was no trade off in interior or trunk space. Buy It!!

Great car - 2010 Volkswagen Jetta
By bryols19 - December 24 - 1:25 amI personally dont have an issue with this car. I upgraded from a 2003 vw golf 2.0 which was a great car but lacked power. I love my 2010 2.5 jetta. I have over 76,000 miles on it, car has never given me a problem. Its not the top of the line model but Im fine the engine, powerful enough for me. **Note** there was an engine software upgrade for the gas mileage... from personal experience the car has good gas mileage but I honestly think I had better gas mileage before the software update, I was getting well over 400miles before and now after its more 350-370miles in the city. HWY I can go from VA BEACH to waterbury CT on one tank of gas. 451 miles doing 70-75mph. Im not complaining.
